Aberdeen expect Ryan Fraser to leave after rejecting new deal
Aberdeen winger Ryan Fraser has rejected a new contract at Pittodrie.
The 18-year-old has been a regular in Craig Brown's side so far this season, making 16 appearances.
Craig Brown Aberdeen manager“He would be far better to continue to learn his trade here with Aberdeen”
His current deal runs out in the summer and Fraser will be able to talk to clubs in the New Year with a view to joining for the start of next season.
Brown said: "The club made the player the best offer they possibly could and it's very disappointing that he has chosen to see his future elsewhere."
Compensation would be due to Aberdeen if Fraser agrees a move for the start of season 2012-13.
However, the Dons may choose to sell the player next month should a suitable offer be made.
"It was indicated to the club that Ryan believes he is ready to play at a higher level than the SPL and I have to say I think that is the wrong decision," Brown added on the Aberdeen website.
"He would be far better to continue to learn his trade here with Aberdeen and I only want players here who are 100% committed to Aberdeen Football Club."
Last January, Jack Grimmer, now 18, left the Dons for Fulham after making only four appearances for the Scottish Premier League club.
He was followed by fellow midfielder Fraser Fyvie, the 19-year-old who had become a first-team regular joining Wigan Athletic after rejecting the offer of a contract extension.
Fyvie has made only three appearances for his new club, featuring three times in the League Cup, while Grimmer has yet to make his debut for his new Premier League employers.

@65
Perhaps they simply make a suitable target and it's not simply about success either.
Anyway, back to topic. Fraser is a local lad to Aberdeen and that may be the reason why he wants to move as much as anything. An opportunity to see a wider world. My concern for him is that he's 5'4" and that will make life difficult for him wherever he goes.

>Mate when I comment on these threads I only talk about my team, timothy and the rest of Scottish football are obsessed about us
Yet you're commenting on an article about a player and team that isn't your own?
I see your logic there, kid.
