FA Cup: Bradford City kicked out after Curtis Good mix-up
Bradford City have been kicked out of the FA Cup for fielding an ineligible player, sending Brentford through to the third round.
The Bantams fielded on-loan Newcastle defender Curtis Good in last Friday's 1-1 draw with the Bees without registering him by the noon deadline.
Their replay on 18 December will be cancelled, with Brentford now visiting Bury or Southend in round three.
City have until 17:00 GMT on Friday to appeal.
Bradford's cup joy in 2012-13
Bradford have not lost a cup match this season. They are set to face Arsenal in the quarter-finals of the Capital One Cup, and have also qualified for the Northern Area semi-finals of the Johnstone's Paint Trophy.
Good, 19, joined the Bantams in November and made his debut in the Brentford match. He also played in the 2-0 Johnstone's Paint Trophy win over Port Vale this week.
A club statement read: "The nature of the charge is the playing of one of our loan players deemed ineligible due to the late submission for permission for him to play.
"The error was of an administrative technical nature and not one to intentionally break competition rules.
"We presented a case of mitigation to the FA on Thursday, 6 December, however the FA panel chose to enforce the full powers of its jurisdiction and have removed the club from the FA Cup competition."
The Football Association said in a statement: "Bradford City did not have the necessary written permission for Curtis Good to play in the competition, whilst on loan from Newcastle United, by the 12pm deadline on Friday November 30 prior to the fixture that evening."
Bury and Droylsden were kicked out of the Cup, in 2006 and 2008 respectively, for fielding ineligible players, with both clubs losing their appeals.

"63.Leaguefan
Seriously stop saying soccer!"
I can't do anything else. The only true football game in the planet that is still true to it's heart is Rugby LeagueFOOTBALL!!! ;-)
However if you you believe that then You will believe that the moon is made of cheese and that bears etc....
I doubt if ANY sport at the top level is "clean and pure".

Don't really see why this subject is worthy of comments?
Bradford City broke the rules, whether intentionally or not is irrelevant, they have been punished correctly by the FA, end of story, there is nothing to debate.
The rules apply equally throughout the entire league structure right down to Sunday morning youth leagues, incorrect paperwork is a very basic and inexcusable error

It was obviously a genuine mistake on the part of Bradford City but rules are rules and the FA acted in an appropriate manner. A similar situation happened during last season's U19 NextGen Series when Spurs fielded a player who had not been registered. As soon as the error was noticed, Tottenham voluntarily removed themselves from the tournament and allowed Liverpool to take their place.

Calling Bradford City cheats seems overboard, look at the definition of cheating.
A honest mistake seems a better description,if they were going to cheat(No disrespect to the player) i don't think they would have done it with a 19yr old loan player !!

I too applaud this action. It's great to see that the FA are tackling the real damaging issue in the game; incomplete and tardy paperwork.
I, along with the other officious and self righteous fans in this thread, know this is inexcusable. It gives me a warm feeling that the FA are swift in meting out justice on this matter and are not distracted by sideshows such as racism and referee abuse.
