Commons keen on Man Utd clash
Celtic: Kris Commons hails Champions League progress
Kris Commons says Celtic "proved the doubters wrong" by progressing to the last 16 of the Champions League.
Commons scored the winning goal from the penalty spot in the 2-1 victory against Spartak Moscow.
Celtic players performed miracle - Lennon
"On our day, I think we can beat anyone," the midfielder said. "We have proved that. No-one will fancy coming to Celtic Park and playing us.
"We have turned boys into men and we have young players who are hungry for the game."
Celtic went into the game against Spartak knowing they had to better Benfica's result against Barcelona to progress.
Commons was taken off on a stretcher following Kim Kallstrom's tackle, the Spartak man following him from the field after receiving a second booking for the challenge.
The Celtic midfielder tweeted a picture of his injured leg following the game.
And he described the nerves he felt when given the chance to fire Celtic into the lead late on.
"Obviously I wouldn't have liked the penalty to hit the bar - that was a bit edgy! But I wanted to go straight down the middle, nice and high," said Commons.
"My only worry was that his feet would still be in the middle with him diving, so I wanted to go as high as possible without ballooning it over."
Celtic could face Manchester United, Malaga, Juventus, Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund, Schalke or PSG in the next stage of the tournament, the draw for which takes place on 20 December.

Don't think that you can say that this the poorest squad of Bhoys in a long time anymore, Messhibhoy! There's a lot talent been brought out by Neil Lennon since he took over... and they have done just fine against some of the giants of Europe. Who would you re-sign from the Bhoys who have left in the last five years, and who would you have them replace in the present squad?

Celtic have already proved that it is very difficult to beat them at home in European competition. They are in with the big boys now however, and simply shutting up shop hoping for a lucky goal on the break will not do. If they play with the ambition and determination they showed against an improved Spartak side they could trouble any opposition. Great for Scottish football.

Kerching, kerching, kerching. Scotland's pride. God bless you bhoys for restoring some pride into the battered reputation of our game. The zombies are still trying to blame everyone else. A big boy did it (Dundee utd) and tried to stick to the rules. Boo hoo. Neither wanted or needed. Please be quiet as the football world finds your outbursts embarrassing. Hail Hail to the Celtic family worldwide

really pleased for celtic and scottish football in general .the only thing that surprises me that when the weekend turns up after great european nights the team lets the fans and manager down with a sloppy performance , which in turn is a backlash towards neill lennon
