Nigel Clough: Derby County away form needs to improve

Derby County manager Nigel Clough wants his side to use their good form at Pride Park this season to influence their away results.

The Rams, who travel to Leicester on Saturday, have won five home games but only two on their travels.

Clough told BBC Radio Derby: "We have to take our home form into away games.

"We have been reluctant to shoot and create chances away from home, but we have to try and get it into our heads to play like we do at Pride Park."

Clough's side go into the game five points adrift of the Championship play-offs, while Leicester are five points behind leaders Cardiff.

The former Nottingham Forest striker does not believe the difference in form comes down to tactics.

"We certainly try to start with a 4-4-2 (home and away). We might change within the game if we think it is a benefit," added Clough.

"It's a mentality thing and also the opposition. They are going to have a little go at you on their home turf.

"We haven't dealt with that properly or kept enough clean sheets away from home."
