Liverpool 3-0 Wigan: Roberto Martinez blames international break

Wigan boss Roberto Martinez says the midweek international fixtures meant "we couldn't be ourselves" in the 3-0 defeat by Liverpool at Anfield.

Martinez says nothing went in their favour during the match as they lost midfielder Ben Watson to a "hideous" broken leg and Reds striker Luis Suarez went "unpunished" for what the Spaniard believes was a stamp on David Jones .

The Latics manager wants his side to "move on as quick as we can", and is pleased there are no more international breaks in the upcoming weeks.
