Inverness manager Terry Butcher cools Ipswich speculation
Inverness boss Terry Butcher has dismissed speculation linking him the managerial vacancy at Ipswich Town.
Butcher's former club are searching for a new manager after parting company with Paul Jewell.
"It's just paper talk and speculation," Butcher said of the reports linking him with a move to Portman Road.
"It's one of my old clubs, the club I started playing football with. So it's nice to be mentioned in terms of that but that's all it is, just paper talk."
Butcher, who won 77 caps for England and captained them to the World Cup semi-finals in 1990, was appointed Inverness boss in 2009.
The former England captain has also managed Coventry, Sunderland, Motherwell, Sydney FC and Brentford.
"We've got a big job here to do, which we're looking forward to doing and working with these players so we just move on and carry on as normal," he told BBC Scotland.

Terry may well get offered the Ipswich job as he has done a good job at ICT, however he has also had managerial roles at bigger clubs in the past and had his fingers burnt by their greater ( and sometimes unrealistic )expectations.
No doubt if Ally McCoist does not improve things at "The Rangers" we will hear Terry's name mentioned for that job as well.

Would be a bad move at this time for Terry. He's doing a wonderful rebuilding job at Inverness...and has a job for life there.
Previous managers Steve Paterson, John Robertson and Craig Brewster have left Caley Thistle have regreted it!

What Butcher is reported to have said in response doesn't amount to much of a denial, does it? So, may I once again suggest that this is an inaccurate report? Either the headline or the conclusion is wrong or the quotes of Terry's responses are incorrect. Can't we have accurate and reasonable reporting? Must we accept such a shoddy effort ? How about "Butcher avoids answering a question" about....
