1944:
Right, time to call it a day, and what a day it has been in the Premier League. My thanks to Phil Dawkes for kicking things off when he started this text commentary many moons ago, and to you lot for keeping us company throughout.
Make sure you watch all today's top-flight action in Match of the Day at 22:30 BST (on BBC One and this website) and all the goals from the Football League afterwards at 00:00 BST on The Football League Show (ditto). Oh, and be back on Sunday for the Tyne-Wear derby and QPR-Everton. See you then.
-
1940:STARTING SOON
If you need something to fill the gap between now and Match of the Day, I have the perfect footballing fix for you: England women, minus Kelly Smith, begin their preparations for Euro 2013 when they take on France at the Charlety Stadium in Paris tonight
Smith, 33, has scored 45 goals in 111 games for her country but is injured. The England starting line-up includes long-serving midfielder Rachel Yankey, a veteran of 120 caps while her Arsenal team-mate Ellen White starts in attack.
England: Bardsley, Houghton, Bradley, Scott, Stoney, Asante, Carney, Scott, Aluko, Yankey, White.
France: Bouhaddi, Boulleau, Georges, Meilleroux, Soubeyrand, Franco, Le Sommer, Abily, Necib, Thiney, Delie.
Kick off is 19:50 BST and the match is live on this website and BBC Three.
-
1939:
Norwich manager Chris Hughton feels his side were good value for their first Premier League win of the season: "It was worth the wait. I thought we deserved the win. They are always going to have lots of possession but we restricted their chances. It's a well earned and overdue three points. It was a bout a team performance today. There's never been a lack of belief in the dressing room."
-
1937:
Norwich match-winner Grant Holt on his side's surprise win over Arsenal: "I should have had a couple of more goals, but we are delighted with the win and great to get the win under the belt. We have been playing well, despite getting a couple of hidings, and we did well today."
-
MOTD's Steve Wilson at Carrow Road, BBC SportFULL-TIME- Norwich 1-0 Arsenal"Arsenal had so much possession but relatively few chances. It's not just any team Norwich beat for the first win it was Arsenal. Celebrations all round at Carrow Road."
-
MOTD's Martin Fisher at Upton ParkFULL-TIME- West Ham 4-1 Southampton
"This is going to be a long, hard slog for Nigel Adkins and Southampton. 24 goals conceded already so it is easy to identify the chief problem for them. Three more points for Sam Allardyce due to a superb performance in the second half with two goals in the space of three minutes at the start of the second period."
-
MOTD's John Motson at The Hawthorns:FULL-TIME- West Brom 1-2 Man City"Joe Hart was congratulated at the end, and rightly so, because it was his save from Lukaku in stoppage time which allowed City to stay in the game. The champions then went up the other end and won it. What a clinical finish it was too from Dzeko.
-
MOTD's Alistair Mann at the Liberty StadiumFULL-TIME- Swansea 2-1 Wigan
"A first-half of few chances was completely altered in the second-half and in the end this turned out to be an exciting game. Swansea will be relieved with the points and Wigan will wonder why they did not get anything."
-
MOTD's Simon Brotherton at Old TraffordFULL-TIME- Man Utd 4-2 Stoke"Manchester United didn't have it all their own way here, particularly in the opening half an hour. The decisive moments came either side of half-time as Robin van Persie and Danny Welbeck put United in control. Stoke came back but in the end Wayne Rooney had the final word."
-
MOTD’s Jonathan Pearce at AnfieldFULL-TIME- Liverpool 1-0 Reading"Liverpool's lack of cutting edge exposed again. Raheem Sterling grabbed their winner but they created a number of other chances but couldn't score again. Reading had chances themselves in the second half and might have felt they might have nicked a point."
-
MOTD's Steve Bower at Craven CottageFULL-TIME- Fulham 1-0 Aston Villa
"Fulham were not at their fluent best, but they did enough and it was the unlikely source of Chris Baird who won it for the home team in the end. Although they clinched their fourth win of the season, it could have only been a point had Christian Benteke not missed the chance to equalise. But Villa have now lost five times under Paul Lambert."
-
BBC Sport Chief Football Writer Phil McNulty at White Hart Lane:FULL-TIME- Tottenham 2-4 Chelsea"Chelsea make it a day of misery for former manager Andre Villas-Boas as they stay top of the Premier League with victory in an enthralling encounter at White Hart Lane."
-
1929:
So, there were eight Premier League games today, packed full of action (most of them were anyway). Here's how they panned out...

Rahul Archie on Twitter: "You can already see the mini league forming beneath the top three."
Mike Simpson on Twitter: "It's hard to sustain the argument that Arsenal are contenders with results like this."
Samuel Austen on Twitter: "This just proves Arsenal still aren't title contenders until they sign a proper striker! Robert Lewandowski is in for a shout surely?"

FOOTBALL LEAGUE UPDATE
Burnley are on the climb in the Championship, if only by one place. Charlie Austin's solitary strike has given the Clarets a priceless win over Blackpool to lift them to 15th in the table. Blackpool are down four spots from the start of the day, in 12th.
-
1926:
Norwich are also out of the bottom three, and up to 15th in the table. That leaves Southampton, Reading and QPR in the Premier League drop zone.
-
1922:FULL-TIME- Norwich 1-0 Arsenal
To the delight of Delia Smith, Norwich have their first win of the season. Delia is dancing too, bless her.
-
1921:
Less than two minutes of injury time left and Arsenal are drinking in the last chance saloon. Their attacking play has just not been incisive enough tonight, and their finishing has been poor - as seen again just now when Olivier Giroud blasts over from outside the box and Santi Cazorla lifts another shot over the bar from even further out.
-
1920:SUBSTITUTION- Norwich's Ryan Bennett for Wes Hoolahan
Norwich look to play keep-ball down by the Arsenal corner flag. When that fails, they turn to a substitution to eat up some more seconds - centre-back Ryan Bennett is on for Wes Hoolahan, who departs to the same ovation that Grant Holt just got.
-
1917:SUBSTITUTION- Steve Morison for Grant Holt
Norwich's goalscorer is off - his work is done. The Canaries will have to survive five minutes of added time if they are to earn their first three points of the season.
-
1917:
We've had a delay while Norwich midfielder Alex Tettey gets some treatment, so there might be a little bit more injury time to offer Arsenal salvation. They are creating chances now, with Serge Gnabry sliding Gervinho into space inside the box, but Seb Bassong is across to block his shot.
-
1913:
The finishing line is in sight for Norwich, but they still have work to do. Mikel Arteta tests John Ruddy with a low snap-shot from the edge of the area and, with Per Mertesacker looking to snaffle up any leftovers, it is important Ruddy holds on to the ball.
-
1910:SUBSTITUTION- Arsenal's Serge Gnabry for Aaron Ramsey
A last roll of the dice for Arsene Wenger, and bringing on a 17-year-old German midfielder certainly represents a gamble. Serge Gnabry has been doing well in the reserves, though, so time to see what he can do on his Premier League debut. He has five minutes to make an impact.
-
1907:
Norwich could have wrapped up the points here... in fact they should have. Thomas Vermaelen's slip on the halfway line allows Grant Holt to sprint (sort of) towards goal. Per Mertesacker is after him and this is like watching a race between two over-loaded lorries.
Holt's superior pace gets him to the end of the area and within shooting distance, which is where it all goes wrong for Holt. He tries to chip Vito Mannone but the Arsenal keeper could have caught that kneeling down. Chance gone.
-

Fahad Khan on Twitter: "Why is there such hype about Jack Wilshere ? Has he actually proven anything other than being injured half his playing career?"
Ryan McCullough on Twitter: "Norwich fans singing "Robinnnn Van Persieeee..He would of scored that..." Love ittt! Haha."
Matt Cartwright on Twitter: "Can't help but think Norwich may come to regret all these wasted chances."
-
1905:SUBSTITUTION- Norwich's Robert Snodgrass for Elliott Bennett
Norwich make their first change, with Elliott Bennett getting deserved applause as he goes off. He has put a shift in down the right flank today.
-
1902:
Just 15 minutes left now. Norwich have had a couple of sniffs on the break of late and they are still getting men forward. They will have a chance to test Vito Mannone again now too, because Thomas Vermaelen has conceded a free-kick out on the right, for a late lunge on Elliott Bennett.
It's a decent enough delivery when the ball comes in, but the Gunners defence hack it clear.
-
1900:SUBSTITUTION- Arsenal's Andrey Arshavin for Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain
I was wrong about Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, who jogs straight off down the tunnel for more treatment. He lasted nine minutes.
-
1858:
... and they don't really stretch Ruddy here. Santi Cazorla curls his shot over the wall but it does not have enough power to test the Canaries keeper, who is across his goal to collect.
-
1857:YELLOW CARD- Norwich's Michael Turner
Santi Cazorla is caught by Michael Turner as he looks to swivel past him, about 30 yards from goal. That's a booking, and chance for Arsenal to test John Ruddy from the resulting free-kick. They haven't done that too often tonight...
-
GET INVOLVED
Lee Hamilton on Twitter: "Normally I have no time for Robbie Savage but all respects due. There are far too many bandwagon jumpers criticising Rio Ferdinand."
-
1856:
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain seems to have run off that knock, but his entrance has not given Arsenal much of a boost in attack. They are lacklustre and Norwich are not having to work too hard to protect their lead.
-
More from Robbie Savage about racism in football, speaking on BBC Radio 5 live's 606: "The more you think about it, it is a shocking statement from Sir Alex Ferguson. He says it has embarrassed him? It is not about him. Fergie is the greatest manager in history, but for me it is up to Rio if he wears the Kick It Out shirt or not.
"If he is not wearing it, surely he is bringing more attention to this issue? The people who did not wear the shirts today, it is massively close to their hearts and it is their choice. The Kick It Out campaign has helped tackle the issue immensely, but more needs to be done."
-
1855:
Fulham kept up their impressive home record today, with a late Chris Baird goal enough to sink Aston Villa. Cottagers boss Martin Jol said afterwards: "It was a bit of a relief. At the end to score from a corner kick sums it up - scrappy. But we grinded out a result, which is good for us."
And asked about the secret to Fulham's form at Craven Cottage: "I don't know. I always had the feeling Fulham always did well at home."
-
1851:SUBSTITUTION- Arsenal's Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain for Lukas Podolski
Lukas Podolski is the man making way. Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is straight into action on the right flank, but he does not have the impact Arsene Wenger was hoping for - he picks up a knock in his first challenge with Sebastien Bassong and is limping badly.
-
1851:
Time for an Arsenal change. Jack Wilshere? No, not yet. Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is about to come on for the Gunners. They definitely need to try something different.
-
1849:YELLOW CARD- Norwich's Grant Holt and Wes Hoolahan
Norwich are not just working hard, they are saying a lot. Wes Hoolahan was booked for dissent a few minutes ago and Grant Holt has joined him in Lee Probert's notebook for the same offence.
-
GET INVOLVED
Mike Hall on Twitter: "This Norwich-Arsenal game is slow going. Has the Premier League run out of goals for today?"
-
1844:
We are coming up to the hour mark at Carrow Road where Norwich still lead 1-0. Arsenal's final ball continues to let them down but part of the reason for that remains the Canaries' fine defending.
-
BBC Sport's Nabil Hassan at Upton Park: "Southampton need to learn how to defend and quickly, otherwise they will turn into relegation fodder. West Ham's physical, direct approach was more than enough to earn three points."
-
Robbie Savage, speaking about tackling racism on BBC Radio 5 live's 606: "I respect Jason Roberts for coming out and standing up for what he believes in, same with Rio Ferdinand.
"When I was playing we would be given the tee-shirt and cards and we had no choice. You were given them and you wore them. It is good that people stood up to it.
"But my point on this is this: You can't be handing out eight and four game bans for racial abuse, and then saying Serbia was so bad what happened. I think 20-30 game bans should be given for racial abuse, then you can be stronger about what happened in Serbia."
-
1840:
Better by Arsenal, who get forward down the flanks for once and send over a cross that John Ruddy leaves for his defence to deal with, but instead falls for Olivier Giroud. To be fair to Giroud the ball was bouncing and he had his back to goal... so I won't be too harsh on his pretty poor attempt after he swivelled to get a shot away.
-
1838:
Arsenal came out for the second half with more urgency but Norwich held them up and have begun to build their own attacks.
The home side are looking more menacing too, with Javier Garrido almost finding Grant Holt at the far post after a neat passing build up that the Gunners would have been proud of.
-
1836:
Southampton boss Nigel Adkins, whose side have conceded 24 goals in their first eight games back in the Premier League, speaking after today's 4-1 win defeat at West Ham.
"The first half was good with us passing it well, and moving it around nice and keeping good possession of the ball," Adkins said.
"The result in the end was hard to take and it was frustrating say in the dugout. Adam Lallana scored a good goal, we looked threatening but the penalty took the sting out of us."
-
From Paul: "Jack Wilshere time for Arsenal?"
I reckon that will come a bit later on... maybe after 70 minutes or so...
-
1831:KICK-OFF- Norwich 1-0 Arsenal
No changes from either side at the break, and the Gunners get us going again at Carrow Road.
If the score stays the same, Norwich's first win of the season will lift them out of the bottom three.
-
Manchester City's Vincent Kompany on Twitter: "The big man Edin Dzeko proved his worth again! We showed a lot of spirit after going down to 10 men. Great performance! Great support!"
-

Grant Tissot on Twitter: "When Giroud plays for Arsenal it slows everything up attacking wise. Get him off and get some pace on in Oxlade-Chamberlain or Gnabry."
Pasa Mustafa on Twitter: "Looking poor Arsenal, very lacklusture. Disappointing so far."
-
1827:
Wayne Rooney scored three times in Manchester United's 4-2 win over Stoke earlier on today but he doesn't get to keep the match ball because one of them was in his own net.
On his own goal, Rooney said: "I was marking Ryan Shawcross and I couldn't see the ball so it came and hit me and went in. It was important for me to move on and not let it affect me and I did that.
"Stoke put a lot of high balls in the box and make it difficult to defend. Conceding the first goal was a blow but we responded well and we deserved the victory."
And on his two goals at the right end, to open his account for United this season: "I've worked hard for those goals today. Getting the goals for England (against San Marino and Poland) helped."
-
FOOTBALL LEAGUE UPDATE
Half-time at Turf Moor and it is the home side who have taken the lead against Blackpool through Charlie Austin. The formbook has been thrown out of the window in that game too -Burnley are struggling in the Championship this year, winning only three of their 10 games with Blackpool looking get into the play-off spots.
-
1819:
Apologies for the rogue goal graphic just then. Norwich have only scored once, but it is enough to give them a lead at half-time for the first time this season.
-
MOTD's Steve Wilson at Carrow Road, BBC SportHALF-TIME- Norwich 1-0 Arsenal"Norwich have done well and they'll reflect that their lead might have been by two goals with Michael Turner heading wide from very close range. Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has got some thinking to do."
-
1816:HALF-TIME- Norwich 1-0 Arsenal
-
1815:
Just one minute of added time to be played at the end of the first half. It is actually Norwich who will end the first half with a corner, after a swift break forward. Have Arsenal learned their lesson? Yes... Anthony Pilkington's delivery is cleared at the near post.
-
1813:
Gervinho gets behind the Norwich defence and makes for goal along the by-line until Michael Turner intervenes. Arsenal are going to end the half with a corner but, by the looks of it, not a goal because John Ruddy is off his line confidently to connect it.
-
1811:
More of the same at Carrow Road, with Arsenal passing it around well enough but never finding a way through to goal. Norwich are still working extremely hard, and they have only got three more minutes to hold out until the break.
-
1808:
Swansea manager Michael Laudrup has had to contend with rumours of unrest in the dressing room in the past few days but he was pleased to see his side return to winning ways against Wigan today.
"When we don't win, I'm not happy," the Dane said. "I haven't been happy the last couple of weeks. But you have to carry on. We all know there are some critics and rumours when you don't win. There's negative things. But it helps a lot when you get a result like we have today."
And on Wigan's late goal which was disallowed for offside: "I've just seen it again and I have to admit it was tight."
-
1804:CLOSE!
Things almost just got a whole lot better for Norwich.
Michael Turner arrived like a steam train at the far post to get on the end of Anthony Pilkington's deep corner... and rose to meet it unmarked. The ball really should be nestling in Vito Mannone's net now but instead Turner somehow planted it wide. A BIG let-off for the Gunners, that... and a sign they still have problems at the back from set-pieces too.
-
1802:
Here's Stoke boss Tony Pulis, still without a point at Old Trafford in the Premier League after his side lost 4-2 against Manchester United today, making it five defeats in five years, with United scoring 17 goals and conceding three.
"One or two players didn't play as well as they can do today and we need them to play at their best," Pulis said. Against the top teams if you switch off they kill you. We were sloppy defending and the times of the goals killed us.
-
1759:
Hmmm, Arsenal have hardly roared back since falling behind and, with half an hour gone, they look short of a spark in the final third. Norwich are still tackling tigerishly, as you would expect now they have the lead.
-
1758:
Wigan had a late goal controversially disallowed in their defeat by Swansea, with TV replays showing Arouna Kone was onside when he headed home after the flag had gone up.
Disappointed Latics manager Roberto Martinez said: "I felt we deserved to get something out of the game. It's a difficult decision and when I saw it live I thought it should have been given. It's disappointing that call did not go our way. Anyway, I shouldn't talk about referees this season. I've learnt my lesson."
-
1754:YELLOW CARD- Norwich's Bradley Johnson
If Norwich are going to commit more men forward they will leave themselves open at the back, something Bradley Johnson is well aware of here when he slides in on Santi Cazorla as Arsenal look to break. That's a free-kick and a booking.
-

Muteen Hussain on Twitter: "Rio Ferdinand should have worn the top but say why he is not happy. We should stand together but also develop the message."
Farooq Ali on Twitter: "It's disappointing to hear Sir Alex Ferguson needs to deal with Rio, who has every right to stand for what he believes in."
-
1752:
Norwich have a spring in their steps after going ahead, and they are going for Arsenal now... looking to lift the ball into the box and towards Grant Holt whenever they can. The Gunners look rattled but they have still got time on their side to turn this one round.
-
1749:GOAL- Norwich 1-0 Arsenal - Grant Holt (20 mins)
Oh dear. Arsenal's third-choice keeper Vito Mannone has a shocker here as Norwich go ahead against the run of play. Mannone spills Alexander Tettey's drive from the edge of the area - pushing it back into play - and Grant Holt gobbles up the rebound, beating Per Metersacker to the loose ball.
-
1747:
More probing from Arsenal, but they are still being kept at arms' length by Norwich's industry and organisation in midfield and at the back.
Chris Hughton's men are not providing much of a threat at the other end but they will be happy with the score at 0-0 after 15 minutes.
-
1744:
Reading boss Brian McDermott on his side's 1-0 defeat at Anfield that leaves them winless after eight games and keeps them in the bottom three: "I saw enough in the second half to know that we are competing and this group is going to be ok. First half we didn't really get going and in second half we pushed for a goal and that gives us hope."
And on Royals striker Jason Roberts' decision not to wear a Kick it Out t-shirt before the game against Liverpool: "Jason had his view and it was very strong view. We spoke on Friday and I totally respect his view."
-
1742:
The Canaries are trying to press Arsenal in the Gunners' own half and it is a strategy that is working at the moment. Arsene Wenger's men have had all the possession but, so far, they have not been able to do much with it.
-
GET INVOLVED
Claud, via text: "I hope Serge Gnabry gets a run out for Arsenal today, he's looked a treat in the reserves."
Benji, vi text: "Robin van Persie has scored two goals in each of Arsenal's last two games against Norwich. Who will be our saviour this time around?"
-
1736:
West Brom head coach Steve Clarke after his side lost their unbeaten home record to two goals in the last 10 minutes from 10-man Manchester City: "It is a difficult one to take but we have to give credit to City.
"They showed why they are champions - the way they played with 10 men was tremendous. Saying that, we put them in a position where they were reduced to 10 men and we acquitted ourselves very well and showed we are a very good team too."
-
1735:
Arsenal don't exactly look shy going forward either, though, Their first real attack sees Lukas Podolski denied a shot on goal by a last-ditch challenge but the German forward makes up for it when he next touches the ball, flashing an angled shot just wide from near the left-hand corner of the area.
-
1733:
Norwich have made a decent start and don't take long to bring Arsenal keeper Mannone into action. Anthony Pilkington swings a cross into the area and Mannone reaches it just before Wes Hoolahan. Pilkington has a pop himself moments later, but his low shot from the edge of the area fizzes wide.
-
FOOTBALL LEAGUE UPDATE - LEAGUE TWO
Leaders Gillingham trounced Burton Albion 4-1 and Bradford moved up to fifth after a 3-1 win against Cheltenham. Tom Craddock netted four for Oxford United in a 5-0 triumph over Accrington, and Aldershot were unable to move out of the relegation zone after losing 3-0 at home to Rotherham. Chesterfield, Plymouth and Port Vale all won.
-
Steve Claridge on Final Score"It is good to see Jack Wilshere back. He is the type of player who can pick a pass, play the ball forward and make things happen. He is someone Arsenal have missed."
-
1729:KICK-OFF- Norwich v Arsenal (17:30 BST)
We are under way at Carrow Road.
-
Manchester City first-team coach David Platt, following the champions' last-gasp victory over West Brom at the Hawthorns: "It was a strange game which was full of incident. We thought we controlled the first half, despite going down to 10 men, and it was tremendous how we stuck together in the second half and created so many chances. It's a great fillip to win after playing for almost 70 minutes with 10 men."
-
1725:
The players emerge from the tunnel at Carrow Road. Norwich are without a home win this season, Arsenal are undefeated on their travels. The form book suggests an away victory is extremely likely but this is the Premier League remember, and you know how often it gets chucked out of the window.
-
BBC Sport's Alistair Magowan at Old Trafford: "Not totally convincing from Manchester United, and Stoke were at their best with Charlie Adam involved, but as long as Sir Alex Ferguson's team have a trio of goalscorers like this, they will continue to flourish."
-
Steve Claridge on Final ScoreAbout Rio Ferdinand not wearing a Kick it Out t-shirt and Sir Alex Ferguson's reaction to it: "The indication in yesterday's news conference was that he would wear it, that is what Ferguson was inferring and Rio seems to have gone back on that."
-
FOOTBALL LEAGUE UPDATE - LEAGUE ONE
Tranmere's lead at the top was cut to four points as they lost 3-1 to Bournemouth and Stevenage narrowly beat MK Dons. Dave Kitson's solitary goal was enough for Sheffield United to beat Preston while his old side Portsmouth enjoyed a comfortable 3-1 win against Shrewsbury. Notts County and Colchester enjoyed wins too.
-
Norwich v Arsenal (17:30 BST)
Norwich make two changes from the drubbing by Chelsea. Defender Michael Turner and midfielder Anthony Pilkington replace Leon Barnett and Jonathan Howson. Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere is back in the first team set-up after 14 months out injured as he is named as a substitute. Other than that, the Gunners make one change from the starting line-up which beat West Ham, with left-back Andre Santos coming in for Kieran Gibbs.
-
FOOTBALL LEAGUE UPDATE - CHAMPIONSHIP
Cardiff fell to a 3-1 defeat against Nottingham Forest and were knocked off top spot as Leicester City's draw against Birmingham was enough to take them top. Bolton staged a remarkable comeback against Bristol City, coming from 2-0 behind to win 3-2 with Martin Petrov scoring the winner. Huddersfield defeated Wolves 2-1 and Theo Robinson's late goal denied Blackburn victory. There were victories for Barnsley, Middlesbrough and Watford.
-
Garth Crooks on Final Score"Everybody at Kick It Out will be very grateful for Sir Alex Ferguson leading from the front with the campaign, but I hope he takes a little bit of perspective about Rio Ferdinand. Rio is entitled to his view, he has gone through a tough 12 months with his brother. Say what needs to be said in the dressing room and leave it at that."
-
1719:
Arsenal have got England midfielder Jack Wilshere on the bench today, after a 14 month absence through injury. It will be good to see him back but, speaking before kick-off, Gunners boss Arsene Wenger says he is not going to rush Wilshere back into action.
"I'm not scientifc enough to tell you how many minutes he can play," said Wenger. "If he is needed then I will play him. He needs more games and is desperate to play but I have to be cautious with him."
-
1718:
West Ham are up to seventh place after demolishing Southampton 4-1 with a second-half performance that impressed their manager Sam Allardyce.
"We were lacklustre in the first half and couldn't find the right tempo to the game but defended well," Allardyce said. "It was about showing more energy and desire and one we got the goal we were off and running. We were tremendous after that. Credit to the players after showing what they could do.
"Modibo Maiga came on and scored the goal of the game and it is great for the lad. After eight games, we have 14 points, and it has been a fabulous start."
-
1715:
More from Ferguson now, speaking about his side recovering from going behind to an early Stoke goal to run out convincing 4-2 winners: "Most of the games at home this season we've had terrible starts. When we did get going we played some terrific football. I was pleased with the performance after the first 20 minutes."
On his attacking trio of Robin van Persie, Wayne Rooney and Danny Welbeck, who all scored, the latter with their first United goals of the season: "They had flexible roles today and it all depends on their movement. If we can get that we will be a handful for teams."
-
1712:
Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson, speaking about Rio Ferdinand not wearing a Kick It Out T-shirt in the warm-up before his side's game against Stoke: "At the press conference yesterday I spoke to the press about it. It is embarrassing for me. He will be dealt with, no doubt about that."
-
BBC Sport's Ben Smith at Anfield: "Liverpool cling on for Brendan Rodgers' first league victory at Anfield since taking over in June. Raheem Sterling was the game's outstanding player, scoring the only goal to become the second youngest Liverpool player to find the net in the league, behind one Michael Owen."

Paul Grimes on Twitter: "Man City can I ask a favour? If you aren't goin to start Edin Dzeko every game from now on then can Liverpool please have him in January?"
Karthik T on Twitter: "25 goals in the Premier League today and only one of my fantasy players managed to score. Story of my season."
-
MOTD's John Motson at The Hawthorns:"That was probably the most amazing final 10 minutes I have ever seen in the Premier League, believe me it is up there. It really was end to end. People say to me what is so special about the Premier League these days and the answer is that teams don't settle for anything anymore. It was gripping."
-
1710:
Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers after beating Reading 1-0 for his first home win as Reds boss: "It's brilliant for the players but we thoroughly deserved it. I thought in the first half we were particularly very good. In the last 20 minutes maybe we needed to manage the game better. It's a great day for the players and fans."
-
1707:
Both Manchester clubs remain four points behind leaders Chelsea, as they were at the start of play. Each of the top three sides found themselves behind at various stages today, though, although Chelsea and United ran out convincing winners in the end. City, who played 70 minutes with 10 men, had to dig a little bit deeper.
-
1706:
You could forgive Norwich for being apprehensive ahead of their clash with Arsenal after letting in nine goals in their last two league games but Canaries manager Chris Hughton says he is relishing the visit of the Gunners.
"These are the type of the games you should look forward to and I know I have a group of players who will feel like that," Hughton said.
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is taking nothing for granted, adding "It is an away game in the Premier League and everyone is in danger everywhere in the Premier League, so that should keep us on our toes. Norwich gave us very hard games last season and we need to switch on again."
-

Steve Wilson at Carrow Road, BBC SportNorwich v Arsenal (17:30 BST)"Jack Wilshere's slow edge towards fitness is gathering pace but Arsenal do not need to rush him back. Santi Cazorla's outstanding form means that Wilshere can been eased very gently back. Norwich's current propensity for shipping goals will certainly offer plenty of encouragement to Olivier Giroud, Lukas Podolski and co.
"The Canaries have hinted at playing close to their best on occasion this season, but have lacked a goal threat when it matters. Three heavy defeats have already have left them as the bookies' favourites to be relegated."
-
1701:
There are still more thrills and spills to come today, too. Our final Premier League game of the day sees struggling Norwich take on Arsenal at Carrow Road. The Canaries gave Arsene Wenger's men a real scare in both meetings last season - drawing 3-3 at the Emirates and leading at home until Robin van Persie scored twice - can they do something similar this evening?
-
1658:
The Manchester City fans are dancing with sheer joy as they make their way out The Hawthorns. What an escape that was for Roberto Mancini's 10 men to leave with three points.
-
Gary Lineker on Twitter: "Brilliant games across the board. Blinding Match Of The Day! BBC1 10.30."
-
1657:
That wasn't bad for an afternoon's entertainment, was it? There was almost an incredible ending at the Liberty Stadium too, where Wigan keeper Ali Al Habsi went up for a corner and met it with a powerful header, only for Michel Vorm to deny him with a brilliant reflect save.
Wigan also had a late goal controversially disallowed, with TV replays showing Arouna Kone was onside when he headed home after the flag had gone up.

It's full-time everywhere else in the Premier League but we're not finished at The Hawthorns yet, because the Baggies are laying siege to City's goal. Romelu Lukaku has just had two efforts blocked by last-ditch tackles.
-
1651:GOAL- West Brom 1-2 Man City - Edin Dzeko (91 mins)
Amazing scenes and how vital that Joe Hart save looks now. Manchester City break quickly from the Baggies corner and Samir Nasri slips in Edin Dzeko to bury his shot past Ben Foster from the edge of the box. The champions were down to 10 men, and they were 1-0 down... now they are 2-1 up.

-
1649:GREAT SAVE!
A late chance for West Brom too, with Romelu Lukaku heading tamely at Manchester City keeper Joe Hart after finding space to meet Liam Ridgewell's cross.
Lukaku does a lot better with his next effort, though, with an overhead kick that Joe Hart tips over his bar. A brilliant save.
-
1648:
Liverpool are looking more than a little bit nervous as they close in on what would be their first home win this season. They are still dominating, but still only lead 1-0 and have to be very wary of Reading counter-attacks.
-
1646:
Late drama at The Hawthorns too, where 10 men Manchester City have almost nicked the three points. Micah Richards met Samir Nasri's corner but Gabriel Tamas was in the right place to block on the Baggies goalline.

1644:West Ham 4-1 Southampton - Modiba Maiga (87 mins)
The goals keep coming, don't they? This one is a corker too, with West Ham substitute Modiba Maiga running at - and through - the Southampton defence before beating a shell-shocked Artur Boruc, who has not had much help on his debut.
-
Steve Claridge on Final Score"When he first came to Manchester City, Edin Dzeko was playing a bit more wide but now he is coming on up front. Manchester City have options and all the teams you associate with being at the top have options."
-
1641:GOAL- Fulham 1-0 Aston Villa - Chris Baird (84 mins)
Craven Cottage joins in the goalfest at last. Chris Baird does not get many but he has just scored what could be a crucial one here, getting on the end of a driven John Arne Riise cross at the near post.
-
1639:GOAL- West Brom 1-1 Man City - Edin Dzeko (80 mins)
He's done it again. Edin Dzeko has only been on the pitch a matter of moments before he gets on the end of a hoisted free-kick into the box to head home. Ben Foster came for it, and got nowhere near it, in the manner of Joe Hart for Poland's goal against England in midweek.
-
BBC Sport's Ben Smith at Anfield: "Still just 1-0 at Anfield and there is a sense of unease among the home support as chances come and go for Liverpool. Luis Suarez, Martin Skrtel, Steven Gerrard and Glen Johnson have all had good opportunities to put this game beyond doubt but Reading are still there, fighting away and sending shudders through those in red every time they break forward. Raheem Sterling has been outstanding for Liverpool but this game is not over yet."
-
1638:SUBSTITUTION
A couple of substitutions to tell you about. Edin Dzeko is on for Manchester City, hoping to rescue them with another late goal. And Jason Roberts, who did not wear a Kick it Out t-shirt in the warm-up, is on for Reading against Liverpool, getting warm applause from the home fans.
-
1637:
That run of about 100 Premier League goals in 10 minutes did not reach Craven Cottage, where it remains goalless. Both sides look comfortable in possession during the second half but have failed to create any clear-cut chances.
-
1635:
Liverpool squander another chance to make the points safe against Reading, with Luis Suarez lifting his shot over the bar after a neat move down the left.
Not much sign of a reply from Manchester City's 10 men at The Hawthorns. It is the Baggies dominating possession and enjoying a long spell of pressure, with Peter Odemwingie at the centre of things.

1628:GOAL- West Ham 3-1 Southampton - Mark Noble pen (72 mins)
Jose Fonte yanks Andy Carroll's pony tail when the ball is hoisted into the Saints area. Silly boy. That's a penalty, which Mark Noble steps up to despatch for his second of the afternoon. The Hammers have their two-goal lead back.
-
1627:PENALTY to West Ham
-
1626:GOAL- West Brom 1-0 Man City - Shane Long (67 mins)
A whiff of offside about this goal at first viewing but replays show Shane Long is definitely onside when he meets Peter Odemwingie's through ball to slot the Baggies ahead.
-
1625:GOAL- Swansea 2-1 Wigan - Emmerson Boyce (69 mins)
The flurry of goals continues at the Liberty Stadium, where Emmerson Boyce improvises to turn home a bouncing ball from Arouna Kone's knockdown in acrobatic style.
-
1624:GOAL- Swansea 2-0 Wigan - Michu (67 mins)
All of a sudden, Swansea have breathing space... although I'm not sure where the Wigan defence went. Michu is first to the ball at the near post from a corner, and steers home Swansea's second goal.
-
1622:GOAL- Man Utd 4-2 Stoke - Wayne Rooney (65 mins)
Wayne Rooney has been involved in pretty much everything for Manchester United today - both good and bad - so it was almost inevitable he would be on the scoreline again. Robin van Persie's corner ricochets around in the Stoke box before falling to Rooney at the back post for the simplest of finishes. Surely that is the end of City's challenge.
-
1622:GOAL- Swansea 1-0 Wigan - Pablo Hernandez (65 mins)
It's not been a thriller in west Wales but at least we have had a goal. Great work by Wayne Routledge sees him escape down the left before teeing up Pablo Hernandez, who provides a cool finish.
-
1620:GOAL- West Ham 2-1 Southampton - Adam Lallana (63 mins)
Hope for Southampton too. Jay Rodriguez swivels to set up Adam Lallana who finds a crisp finish from inside the box. Rickie Lambert is on now too as the Saints look to complete their comeback.
-
1618:
Manchester City's 10 men, as they have become known this afternoon, are still doing all the pressing. West Brom are trying to go through the middle of the City defence, and it is not working. Roberto Mancini's men are hitting the Baggies on the break, and Yaya Toure has just headed over from about six yards out.
-
1616:GOAL- Man Utd 3-2 Stoke - Michael Kightly (58 mins)
Hope for Stoke? Yes, after Michael Kightly charges at the United defence, bulldozing his way past three defenders and into the box before beating David de Gea with a low shot that finds the net off the inside of the post. De Gea got a fingertip to it but cannot keep the ball out.

FOOTBALL LEAGUE UPDATE
In the Championship, Nottingham Forest have taken a surprise 2-0 lead against leaders Cardiff while Peter Lovenkrands's strike on the stroke of half-time has given Birmingham the lead against Leicester and Jordan Rhodes has bagged for Blackburn at Derby. In League One, leaders Tranmere are ahead against Bournemouth while Dave Kitson has given Sheffield United the advantage at Preston. In League Two, Tom Craddock has bagged a first-half hat-trick for Oxford and Chesterfield, Rotherham and Fleetwood all lead.
-
1613:
Chances at both ends at Anfield to tell you about. First Luis Suarez tries to take the Reading defence on single-handedly, before firing in an angled shot that Alex McCarthy pushes away.
Then the Royals break forward on a rare attack, with Garath McCleary finding himself in acres of space down the left, running into the box and bringing a decent block from Brad Jones. A bit of a warning for Liverpool, there, with the score still only 1-0.
-
1608:GREAT SAVE!
Manchester City's 10 men are looking lively. Mario Balotelli obviously calmed down at half-time because he is still on the pitch and played a part as his side went close to taking the lead, taking out two men with a shimmy before teeing up Carlos Tevez to bring a smart save from Ben Foster from 25 yards out. The Baggies keeper had to be on his toes there.
-
Garth Crooks on Final Score"I think Southampton put Rickie Lambert on the bench because they wanted five in midfield against West Ham, but once you go one down, you are struggling anyway. You may as well go for broke and take risks because when they do they look quite exciting."
-
1607:
Manchester United should be 4-1 up. Wayne Rooney's cross to the back post finds Jonny Evans in acres of space and just six yards out but somehow Stoke keeper Asmir Begovic is able to claw the defender's header away.
Liverpool are pressing hard for another goal too. Raheem Sterling works himself into a good shooting position but his shot is straight at Reading keeper Alex McCarthy.
-
1604:GOAL- West Ham 2-0 Southampton - Kevin Nolan (48 mins)
Just 93 seconds after West Ham take the lead, the Hammers go 2-0 up. Southampton's defence goes missing and Yossi Benayoun's shot is parried by Artur Boruc, only for Kevin Nolan to tap home from point-blank range.
-
1604:GOAL- Man Utd 3-1 Stoke - Danny Welbeck (46 mins)
Manchester United have made a fast start after the break too. Wayne Rooney's cross from the right is perfectly directed for Danny Welbeck to dive in and angle a header past Asmir Begovic.
-
1604:GOAL- West Ham 1-0 Southampton - Mark Noble (46 mins)
A bit of fortune about this one, with Mark Noble's hoisted free-kick flying into the area and bouncing straight into the net. James Collins tried to get a touch on it, but didn't quite manage it.

MOTD's John Motson at The Hawthorns:HALF-TIME- West Brom 0-0 Man City"It was an eventful first half, despite the fact there were no goals. MOTD's Alistair Mann at the Liberty StadiumHALF-TIME- Swansea 0-0 Wigan

MOTD's Martin Fisher at Upton ParkHALF-TIME- West Ham 0-0 Southampton

BBC Sport's Alistair Magowan at Old Trafford "Manchester United recover as they have had to so often this term, and the first half has been in keeping with their season so far. Nervous in defence at times, but the quicksilver attack bails them out again."
-
1551:
Mario Balotelli needs to cool down at the break, because he has already been booked and is on his last warning from Mark Clattenburg.
Balotelli chased after Claudio Yacob and fouled him after failing to get a free-kick in the first half, which got him a yellow card. Then he upended Shane Long with a clumsy challenge that saw Clattenburg tell City captain Vincent Kompany that Balotelli's next bad foul will see him get sent off.
City are already down to 10 men, remember, after James Milner saw red for a professional foul.

At last, some meaningful chances at the Liberty Stadium too. After Michu goes close to breaking the deadlock for Swansea with a spectacular volley, Wigan respond through Jean Beausejour's effort from an acute angle, after leaving Ki Sung-Yueng trailing in his wake.
-
1544:GOAL- Man Utd 2-1 Stoke - Robin van Persie (44 mins)
United are ahead, courtesy of a sublime Robin van Persie finish. Wayne Rooney starts the attack, before Antonio Valencia's driven cross finds the Dutchman at the near post and he opens up his body to steer it home superbly.
-
Garth Crooks on Final Score"It seems to me at the Hawthorns that Manchester City, with 10 men, have upped it a bit against West Brom. They are having to take risks and they are going for it."
-
1542:
It's still goalless at Craven Cottage, but only because Steve Sidwell has headed wide from Hugo Rodallega's cross after finding space inside the box. He should have done better there.
-
BBC Sport's Ben Smith at Anfield: "Liverpool fans have grown used to seeing their team dictate and dominate at Anfield but Raheem Sterling's first Premier League goal has given them something a little more substantial to cling on to here at Anfield. There was a growing sense of unease in the stands before that goal, a feeling of 'here we go again'. Sterling has been tremendous for Liverpool so far, popping up through the middle and causing Reading real problems with his interplay."
-
1540:SHOWBOAT
Manchester City's 10 men are coming into the game at The Hawthorns. Some superb skill by Mario Balotelli on the left sees him beat two men and cut inside before letting fly with a shot that Ben Foster has to push away. Samir Nasri has also tested Foster, and Gareth Barry has just curled a shot wide from a corner too.
-
BBC Sport's Alistair Magowan on Twitter: "30 mins in, Stoke fans ironically cheer first song from Man Utd fans. Apart from Wayne Rooney's goal at right end, been a nervous start."
-
1539:
Massive cheers at Anfield as Luis Suarez is awarded a free-kick - that doesn't happen often, does it? Suarez hasn't really helped his future cause when he argues with referee's decisions here, though, because he went down like a ton of bricks on the edge of the Reading area despite replays showing Kaspars Gorkss made little or no contact with him.

1535:
As Danny Mills says below, no sign yet that West Brom are making their man advantage count. In fact, Manchester City have a free-kick in a decent position on the edge of the box... Mario Balotelli takes it but fires straight into the wall. The visitors keep the pressure on, however, and after good work by Carlos Tevez, Samir Nasri brings a low stop from Ben Foster.
-
Danny Mills on BBC Radio 5 live at The Hawthorns"It's been a little bit tentative from both West Brom and Manchester City. Ben Foster and Joe Hart have not had to make any true saves yet."
-
1535:
Liverpool have the lead but Luis Suarez wants a goal for himself, and goes close here with a real rasper from 25 yards out that fizzes a fraction wide of Alex McCarthy's post.
-
1533:
Robin van Persie is at it again, starting a move that really should end with Manchester United taking the lead. Van Persie's floated ball finds Wayne Rooney inside the box to pull it back for Danny Welbeck to blast over from 15 yards out.
-
1531:
Plenty happening elsewhere but we have had a chronic lack of goalmouth action at the Liberty Stadium, where Swansea's Angel Rangel has had a shot charged down from the edge of the box. Wigan are still defending well.
-
Steve Claridge on Final Score"Luis Suarez helps the ball over the top for Liverpool, the two Reading defenders have too much space between them and Raheem Sterling runs onto it and it is a good finish. There was too much space from the defenders though."
-
1528:GOAL- Liverpool 1-0 Reading - Raheem Sterling (29 mins)
A really cool finish this, especially when you consider that it is Raheem Sterling's first senior goal. Luis Suarez makes it, dinking the ball over the top of the Reading defence. Sterling is away and he makes no mistake as he confidently slots past Alex McCarthy to put Liverpool ahead.
-
FOOTBALL LEAGUE UPDATE
In the Championship, It's not a good start for Jimmy Phillips as caretaker manager of Bolton as his side go 2-0 behind at home to Bristol City. -
Danny Mills on BBC Radio 5 live at The Hawthorns"That was dead central and once James Milner made that tackle, the referee had no option but to send him off."
-
1522:RED CARD- Man City's James Milner (23 mins)
Manchester United are not the only ones in trouble, because their neighbours City are down to 10 men. Vincent Kompany gives the ball away cheaply near the halfway line and Shane Long bursts clear. James Milner chases back and chops him down on the edge of the box - a clear foul but City argue he is not the last man because Joleon Lescott was close by. Referee Mark Clattenburg disagrees - and brandishes a red card. Milner will get an early bath.
-
1522:
What sort of response have we seen from Manchester United since they fell behind? Not a lot, to be honest. Stoke have them rattled a bit by the looks of things

1510:GOAL- Man Utd 0-1 Stoke - Wayne Rooney og (11 mins)
Completely out of the blue, this one, from Stoke's first meaningful attack. Initially it appears Ryan Shawcross has notched but it was actually Wayne Rooney, who beats Shawcross to Charlie Adam's whipped free-kick, who heads into his own net from point-blank range. You've got to think David de Gea should have come off his line to get that ball in... but he didn't.

Fulham manager Martin Jol has warned his players not to underestimate Aston Villa, despite their poor start to the Premier League season: "Against Tottenham Hotspur they did okay, although they lost, so I think they are in a false position in the league. If you look at their quality and their system, they still try to dominate possession and they've got a few players who have got the quality to upset the opposition."

West Brom v Man City (15:00 BST)
As West Brom manager Steve Clarke says below, he is impressed with Manchester City's strength in depth. That is evident today as Samir Nasri, Vincent Kompany and Gael Clichy come into the team in place of Pablo Zabaleta, Aleksandar Kolarov and David Silva. West Brom also make three changes, with Liam Ridgewell, Marc-Antoine Fortune and Graham Dorrans replacing Goran Popov, Zoltan Gera and Peter Odemwingie.
-
1455:
West Brom manager Steve Clarke says Manchester City remain the team to beat in the Premier League, despite drawing three of their first seven matches. "I'd say Manchester City are still the favourites to win the league," he said.
"They haven't shown that they've gone backwards from last year. They've shown that they're at the same level and it's up to everyone else to catch up with them. I read in the week that David Silva is injured but they've got Samir Nasri to come in. They've got like-for-like replacements all over the pitch."
-
BBC Sport's Nabil Hassan at Upton Park: "Five black players in the West Ham side have now taken their Kick it Off t-shirts after stadium announcer started talking about campaign."
-
1454:
De Gea is not the only one - the spotlight will be on Manchester City keeper Joe Hart today after his mistake led to Poland's equaliser against England on Wednesday.
Hart needs to be a bit 'cocky' to be as good as he is, according to City manager Roberto Mancini. Responding to criticism of his keeper by TV pundit Roy Keane, Mancini said: "Every keeper is like this. It is important because if not, you should choose another position. If you want to be a keeper you should be cocky. Remember last week, Wayne Rooney on Twitter said Joe Hart is the best keeper in the world. And now he is cocky."
-
1451:
That will be easier said than done, mind. The Jolly Green Giants (as Sir Alex Ferguson described Stoke on Friday) will be a stern test for Manchester United's defence, not to mention David de Gea's ability to deal with high balls into his area.
Manchester City's task looks even harder - nobody has got so much as point at The Hawthorns this season - can the champions change that today?
-
1450:
Hello. That was fun wasn't it? (apart from for Spurs fans, obviously). So Chelsea keep on winning, and the Premier League leaders are now seven points clear at the summit. Time to find out how the teams immediately below them will respond. The title was a two-horse race between Manchester United and Manchester City last season but they really need wins over Stoke and West Brom today to rein in Roberto di Matteo's men at the top.
-
1449:
That is your lot from me. I will leave you in the very capable hands of Mr Chris Bevan. I'll see thee.
-
1448:
As Lord Melchett would say, the Tottenham v Chelsea game twisted and turned like a... twisty turny thing. It was belting entertainment. God knows what it did to AVB's emotional state. He was down, he was up, he was delirious and finally shattered. However, his former assistant has got the better of him. The circle is now complete, when he left AVB he was the pupil but now RDM is the master.

"This corresponding fixture last season proved to a pivotal one in the race for Premier League football, with Southampton rescuing a late draw that helped kick-start their stuttering promotion push. West Ham eventually went up via the play-offs but it is Sam Allardyce's side who have made the better start to the new season and today's encounter will provide an intriguing insight into which of the two promoted side's have adapted best to life in the Premier League and improved from last term."

1441:BBC Sport's Ben Smith at Anfield:
"It is hard to believe as we approach November that Liverpool have won just two league matches at Anfield in 2012. Reading are the visitors today, a club that is something of a stain on Brendan Rodgers' otherwise impressive managerial cv. But in the week Liverpool announced their intention to redevelop their famous old ground, there is an air of optimism in the streets and pubs around Anfield today. Liverpool goalkeeper Jose Reina is out because of a hamstring problem sustained on international duty with Spain so Brad Jones is in goal. Jonjo Shelvey is available again after a three-match suspension. Reading are still looking for their first Premier League win of the season, having only ever won at Anfield in the FA Cup."

Nineteen-year-old full-back Ben Davies starts as manager Michael Laudrup makes three changes to the Swansea side that began the last game, a 2-2 draw with Reading on 6 October. Dutch midfielder Jonathan de Guzman, on loan from Villarreal, also starts along with Spaniard Pablo Hernandez. Wigan are unchanged from the side that drew 2-2 with Everton two weeks ago, with Arouna Kone and Franco Di Santo, who have scored six of their side's seven league goals to date, both starting.

1439:Fulham v Aston Villa
Dimitar Berbatov is one of three changes made by Fulham boss Martin Jol for the visit of struggling Aston Villa. 1435:GOAL- Tottenham 2-4 Chelsea - Daniel Sturridge (90 mins)
Game over. Kyle Walker dithers in possession on the right wing and is dispossessed by Juan Mata, who cuts in to the box before rolling the ball across goal to present Daniel Sturridge with the simplest finish of his career. Mata has been superb to turn this game back in Chelsea's favour this half. The Blues are going to make it 22 points from a possible 24 this Premier League season.
-
1434:SUBSTITUTION- Chelsea - Frank Lampard for Eden Hazard
-
1434:
Tottenham nearly do equalise, on two occasions. Firstly, a cross from the left is spilt by Petr Cech and gives Emmanuel Adebayor chance to score but the striker cannot get his shot away. Then Kyle Walker's shot from range is tipped past the post by the Blues keeper. That could be the save that gives Chelsea all three points.
-
1433:
Chelsea could have had this game wrapped up by now. They have had enough chances. Fernando Torres' pass finds Juan Mata but his touch is heavy in the box and Brad Friedel comes out to claim. The Blues will kick themselves if Spurs equalise.

Unbelievable! A minute after Fernando Torres' pace lets him down with a chance when he looked to be clear, Chelsea strike to take the lead again. Eden Hazard's neat ball finds Juan Mata - who has run past the static William Gallas - and the Spaniard finishes past Brad Friedel. Talk about a rollercoaster!

1410:GOAL- Tottenham 2-2 Chelsea - Juan Mata (66 mins)

1406:LEAGUE ONE & TWO PREVIEWS
In League One, Tranmere have a seven point cushion at the top and could extend that with a victory over Bournemouth. Stevenage will be looking to close the gap with a win over MK Dons as Preston and Sheffield United face off at Deepdale. Spurs have turned this game around. They have come out after the break on fire, while Chelsea look all over the place. -
Phil McNulty, BBC Sport Chief Football Writer"Steffen Freund almost on pitch clenching his fist at Spurs players. Think last time I saw him in the flesh he was being throttled by Duncan Ferguson."
-
1358:
There are suggestions of a William Gallas handball in scoring the Spurs equaliser. I'll be honest, I didn't clock it. Most significantly, neither did the referee and it means the Frenchman has scored his first goal in three years.
-
1355:MOTD’s Martin Fisher at Upton Park:West Ham v Southampton
"Southampton look like they'll always score goals - Nigel Adkins' concern is that they seem even more prone to letting them in. Twenty goals conceded so far means they have the worst defensive record in the Premier League. On their day, in their own way, West Ham can be destructive. Ask Fulham. Andy Carroll terrified their defence at Upton Park on his debut and, now fully-fit again, the England striker will test Southampton's rickety backline."
-
1355:
Tottenham have come out all guns blazing this half. Aaron Lennon's cross is chipped up to the back post where Gylfi Sigurdsson is lurking to volley a shot that deflects up over the Chelsea crossbar. Soon after, Sigurdsson charges forward down the left and looks to curl a shot into the far corner but Petr Cech saves.
-
1353:
Another match is also already underway in the capital - and in-form Crystal Palace hold a 2-1 half-time lead against visitors Millwall in an action-packed South London derby. Eagles midfielder Mile Jedinak netted the opener with a scorching 30-yard drive, before Damien Delaney headed in the second. But Millwall were handed a lifeline when Palace defender Dean Moxey handled a goal-bound shot and Liam Trotter rolled in the resulting penalty. Moxey was subsequently red-carded - meaning Palace face a numerical disadvantage in the second half if they are to move level with Championship leaders Cardiff ahead of the 15:00 BST kick-offs.
-
1353:
David Pleat, BBC Radio 5 live"What an incredible start to the second half. Now it will be interesting to see what Tottenham do now. I suspect they will hoist more balls into the box because that is what got them their goal and also saw them go close a couple of times in the first half."
-
1350:GOAL- Tottenham 1-1 Chelsea - William Gallas (47 mins)
Sorry Chelsea fans. My fault. The Blues have conceded in the second half now and it comes just seconds after the break in this game. The ball is swung to the back post where Jan Vertonghen is able to hook it back before William Gallas glances a header in. That will make amends for his role in Chelsea's opener. AVB's side are level.

But he took his first coaching steps with the Royals and was overjoyed to go back as manager in 2009. It wasn't a happy homecoming. He'll feel there's unfinished business and he needs a win today. "It's hard to know which side comes into this match in greater need of the tonic of victory. A look at the recent form of both teams demonstrates a depressingly similar set of statistics: without a win in their last five league games, only two points garnered, while neither can boast a clean sheet since August. They will be in a confident mood, knowing they were the first team to stop Manchester City scoring last season when the two teams clashed on Boxing Day. City manager Roberto Mancini proclaimed recently that his side will retain their title, which has heaped further pressure on his players. Every game must feel like a cup final for them now. After a less than convincing start to the defence of their title, Mancini will not want them to drop many more points."

1338:MOTD’s Steve Bower at Craven Cottage:Fulham v Aston Villa
"It's been a tough challenge for new Villa boss Paul Lambert, with five points from 21 representing their worst start since 1986.
