Chinese champions Guangzhou Evergrande have rejected speculation they want to sign Ivory Coast striker Didier Drogba from rivals Shanghai Shenhua.
The former Chelsea striker, 34, has been the subject of transfer speculation since it emerged his club may not be able to afford to keep him.
Guangzhou coach Marcello Lippi said: "I know nothing about Drogba's move.
"I have never contacted him myself or via anybody since I took charge of Guangzhou."
Drogba has scored eight goals in 10 appearances since his shock move from the English Premier League to the Super League in China.
But his future has been thrown into doubt because of an equity row among shareholders that has raised the possibility he and fellow striker Nicolas Anelka could be sold if the club could not make their salary payments.
The former Stamford Bridge team-mates reportedly earn more than $300,000 a week.
