Liverpool's Fabio Borini breaks a bone in his foot while on Italy duty
Liverpool forward Fabio Borini has broken a bone in his foot while on international duty with Italy.
The 21-year-old, who joined from Roma in July, had been training with the Italian Under-21 squad for their fixture against Sweden.
It is not known how long the striker, who is yet to score in the Premier League, will be out of action.
Borini yet to break through
Fabio Borini scored on his Anfield debut in the Europe League on 9 August, but has gone goalless since then.
The injury means Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers has only Luis Suarez available as a recognised striker.
Borini, a former Chelsea trainee, moved to Anfield in the summer for an undisclosed fee reported to be in the region of £11m.
He scored on his home debut in August in a 3-0 win in Europa League qualifying against FC Gomel, but has yet to find the net again.
Liverpool loaned Andy Carroll to West Ham on transfer deadline day, leaving only Suarez and youngsters Daniel Pacheco, Samed Yesil, Jerome Sinclair and Adam Morgan as possible striking options.
The Reds are currently 14th in the table and take on 18th-placed Reading at Anfield on 20 October.

Bad luck for Borini and 'pool but at least it should give Pacheco and Morgan a chance to step up and show what their potential is.

You completely offended by that post? How is L'pools under BR not linked to the s.american style of play? patient build up from the back, and channelling movement. if you have watched any of L'pools gameplay this season you will have noticed the structure is depended on the technical side of play. aka Barca (who are not the only team to play this way) but the best example . jeez

Think about it lad... Do you think BBC is posting all this Liverpool news/gossip because they love Liverpool and wish them the best?! .... wrong, absolutely wrong . All this negativity surrounding L'pool stories is basically propaganda and a method of completely scrutinising the club in the most abysmal way .
The BBC generate this hatred and negativity
