Southend United have appointed Steve Kavanagh as their new chief executive, the third man to be in the role in the last eight months.
Gary Lockett quit the Roots Hall job last week,
seven months after
Tara Brady resigned.
Kavanagh, a chartered accountant, is a former finance director and chief executive at Charlton Athletic.
"I see Steve's appointment as important in helping in the delivery of a bright future," said chairman Ron Martin.
Kavanagh, who will be tasked with helping push through the completion of a new stadium at Fossetts Farm, added: "I have known Ron Martin for a number of years.
"I have seen first hand his passion and desire to deliver success for the club and I am looking forward to working along side Ron, and the rest of the board, to deliver what is a really exciting future.
"However, to deliver the vision I am very clear that the club must continue to engage positively with the supporters and the community at large and where possible expand such activity as the future becomes clearer."
