Manager Greg Abbott is hopeful Carlisle made a big enough impression against Premier League side Tottenham to tempt fans to return to Brunton Park.
Spurs were 3-0 winners against the Cumbrians in Tuesday's Capital One Cup tie played before a 12,625 crowd.
"It's the key for any club at this level, to get as many fans through the gate," Abbott told BBC Look North.
"Tonight might have done us a bit of good, and the word may spread that we're playing some good football."
Despite the scoreline United did have chances to test the White Hart Lane side, notably in the first half when Danny Cadamarteri was denied by a clearing header from Stephen Caulker.
"We needed a goal to go in, we needed everything to go our way to give us a boost," Abbott added.
"When they hit the post in the first half it comes out we might have taken a boost, but we could have done with some encouragement.
"They were very good, kept the ball off us and made us work hard and chase, but it's nothing to be too upset about."
