John Terry's retirement explained by BBC Sport

BBC Sport correspondent Dan Roan explains the controversial events that have led to John Terry's decision to retire from international football.

The former England captain was cleared at Westminster Magistrates' Court in July of racially abusing Anton Ferdinand during a Premier League game, but still faces a Football Association disciplinary hearing on Monday.

Terry has said that he made his decision because the FA had, in pursuing the charges, made his position in the national team "untenable."
