That is it for this live text commentary. Tom Rostance will be on duty to guide you through Monday's match between Everton and West Brom at Goodison Park. I'll see thee.
-
Ellis Allan on Twitter: "Mousa Dembele and Jan Vertonghen played very very well today. Vertonghen is captain material."
Tom Hartley on Twitter: "Given Spurs collapsed while 'Arry sat Defoe on the bench last season, AVB deserves credit for bringing a proven goalscorer back."
Jason Truman on Twitter: "Re Andy (1814): Bottom three came up? Really? I thought West Ham came up, and they are seventh..."
-
1826:
MOTD's Steve Wilson at Madejski Stadium:Reading 1-3 Tottenham"It was a tidy Tottenham performance and a convincing win despite a late consolation from Reading who improved after a pretty awful first half to make a contest of it after the break. Jermain Defoe was excellent and played a huge part in securing a first win for Andre Villas-Boas as Spurs manager."
-
1825:BBC Sport's Owen Phillips reports:Wolves 2-1 Leicester
"Open and entertaining stuff at Molineux. Leicester had enough chances to win a couple of games but ultimately paid the price for some terrible first-half defending from set-pieces. Wolves looked dangerous going forward too, but both sides will need to sharpen up if they want to challenge for promotion."
-
1823:
Here is a recap of today's two matches...
-
1821:
Reading manager Brian McDermott: "I thought we were too submissive and didn't get on the ball enough or in their faces. I made some changes and we were much better in the second half. We came up against a very good side today and they deserved the win.
"We've got to move on very, very quickly. Today was a learning curve for all of us. Spurs is a team full of world-class performers, but we didn't cause enough problems for them, especially in the first half.
"We should have had a penalty in the first half when it was 0-0, and we scored a goal at the end. We can also draw positives from 20 minutes in the second half. We have a fantastic bunch of people working here and I know what I will get out of them next Saturday."
-
Sean on 81111 on text: "Where have all the AVB haters gone? Class performance."
Zach on 81111 on text: "Villas Boas will feel some weight lifted from those shoulders now. Well played Spurs!"
Andy on 81111 on text: "The bottom three of the Premier League table are the ones that came up. Could be a long, hard season for them all."
-
1814:
Alan Green at Madejski Stadium for BBC Radio 5 live"These taunts from the stands sicken me, they really do. But I don't know what you can do. If you had been in the Stretford End yesterday and heard 20-odd people chanting this stuff, I don't think there's much realistically you can do."
-
1814:
One small consolation for Reading with that late goal is that they have now scored from open play for the first time in 460 minutes of Premier League football at the Madejski Stadium, since Andre Bikey's 79th-minute winner in the 2-1 victory over Birmingham City in March 2008.
-
Damien Davis on Twitter: "Three goals, three points. Classy performance overall but still can't keep a clean sheet!"
Dan Reilly on Twitter: "Jermain Defoe finally getting recognition he deserves. One of England's best forwards and always scores when given the chance!"
Clyde on Twitter: "I don't doubt AVB but Reading are not Man Utd/City. Let's see how Spurs get on next time..."
-
1810:
Tottenham boss Andre Villas-Boas: "It was a well-deserved win. Everyone performed to their top level and it is a win that will lift us up for the season. We created lots of chances and the second goal gave us the stability. It was a good solid performance from everybody. The most important thing today was the motivation of the players to change the negative results at home. We were very good against West Brom, but not as prolific as today. Jermain [Defoe] is showing his abilities, the amount of shots he has on target is amazing. Every player improves through time and as the lone striker up front, he is linking well with the colleagues."
-
1807:Tottenham striker Jermain Defoe on Sky Sports:
"When you're playing with quality players it's not a problem [scoring]. Today we had a lot of a ball and I made sure my movement was good. We wanted the second goal to settle us down - when it's 1-0 you panic a bit. It could have been a lot more. When a new manager comes to club it takes time [to produce results]."
-
1805:
Alan Green at Madejski Stadium for BBC Radio 5 live"Which sets the better example? The Reading and Spurs fans who applauded the playing of You'll Never Walk Alone today, or the minority of Manchester United supporters and their vile taunt yesterday, aimed at Liverpool? Well done United for condemning what happened."
-
1805:
This win is only Tottenham's second away from home in 2012. It was totally deserved as well. Spurs were very impressive and have made a mockery of those suggesting Andre Villas-Boas' days as manager are numbered.
-
Lee, a Tottenham supporter, on 81111 on text: "Defoe is answering the question as to why he was picked ahead of Dempsey and Adebayor! This is more than just a win, hopefully. It is a fantastic away win at a stadium that teams have struggled at before."
Jon, a Spurs fan is Eastleigh, on 81111 on text: "That's a shame really. Once again we let a goal in in the last 10mins. Reading haven't looked like creating anything so it's just lazy from us. Still great performance, though."
Phil in Chelmsford on 81111 on text: "Spurs have looked good going forward, but Jan Vertonghen has been an absolute rock at the back! Great signing."
-
1759:
BBC Sport Chief Football Writer Phil McNulty at Madejski Stadium:"Tottenham manager Andre Villas-Boas will be relieved and delighted after that. Relief at his first win since succeeding Harry Redknapp and delight at the quality of his team's display. As for Reading, this was a harsh lesson in what they will face in the Premier League."
-
1758:
Martin Keown at Madejski Stadium on BBC Radio 5 live"Tottenham were rampant at times, playing on the break. Jermain Defoe looked very sharp, and Mousa Dembele is really very physically strong.
"How will the Reading players react after today? They have to bounce back, lick their wounds and come back in the next game stronger. That's what it's all about. They will need to learn quickly, because it's a very unforgiving place is this Premier League."
-
Phil McNulty, BBC Sport Chief Football Writer"Impressive display from AVB's side - powerful and fluid in midfield."
-
1755:
Tottenham's first win of the season lifts them up to 10th in the table with five points from four games. Reading remain in 19th with just the one point from three games played. It is the first time the Royals have failed to win one of their first three games in a Premier League season.
-
1753:FULL-TIME- Reading 1-3 Tottenham
-
1752:
Was that a decent penalty shout for Reading? William Gallas swings out a foot and appears to catch Adam Le Fondre in the box. Instead of pointing to the spot, Howard Webb puts his whistle to his mouth to blow for full-time.
-
1751:YELLOW CARD- Tottenham - Jermain Defoe
Tottenham's two-goal hero goes into the book for a high boot.
-
1751:
Martin Keown at Madejski Stadium on BBC Radio 5 live"It's becoming a habit for Tottenham, conceding late goals. They switched off. It should be over your dead body that you concede, but I didn't see that there from Spurs."
-
1748:GOAL- Reading 1-3 Tottenham - Hal Robson-Kanu (90 mins)
Reading do get their consolation. And Tottenham concede another late goal. Two substitutes combine as Adam Le Fondre chips a cross to the back post where Hal Robson-Kanu is waiting to acrobatically volley in. It won't change the way the points are going but it does give the home fans something to cheerv about. The Tottenham defence switched off there. Something AVB won't be happy about.
-
1748:
Jermain Defoe could have had a hat-trick. Andros Townsend beats two men before crossing for Defoe, who hooks his shot over the bar.
-
1746:
Martin Keown at Madejski Stadium on BBC Radio 5 live"Aaron Lennon can do more damage running off the ball than running with the ball. Marc Overmars was like that. He was rapid."
-
1745:SUBSTITUTION- Tottenham - Andros Townsend on for Aaron Lennon
-
Phil McNulty, BBC Sport Chief Football Writer"'Andre, Andre Give Us A Wave' shout the Spurs fans - and Mr Villas-Boas does indeed give them a wave."
-
1744:
William Gallas ensures that Reading don't score with their first shot on target. The ball breaks to Adam Le Fondre 10 yards out following a cross from the right but the striker's first-time effort is cleared off the line by Gallas.
-
1743:
Reading now just in the market for a consolation. Ian Harte swings over a corner but Tottenham clear. Harte has a chance to deliver again in a follow-up attack but again the visitors deal with it. Tottenham have been great in attack, but they have also been very solid at the back.
-
Manchester United midfielder Tom Cleverley on Twitter: "Jermain Defoe on fire!"
-
Phil McNulty, BBC Sport Chief Football Writer"The scoreline is now a more realistic reflection of the game."
-
1740:SUBSTITUTION- Reading - Noel Hunt and Hal Robson-Kanu on for Danny Guthrie and Pavel Pogrebnyak
-
1739:
This is going to be an enjoyable last 10 minutes now for Tottenham, who have made very hard work of the closing stages in previous games this season. Reading have huffed and puffed but have been outclassed. It is a harsh lesson in how tough life in the Premier League can be for newly-promoted teams.
-
Christopher Hall on Twitter: "That's a top class goal from Defoe. How much weight has been lifted from AVB's shoulders over the last five minutes?"
SiB on Twitter: "Wonder if people are still doubting AVB's appointment and selection policy on the back of today? Even more to come, I hope!"
Capital R on Twitter: "Reading will go down this year. Done nothing most the game to deserve a goal."
-
1738:
Martin Keown at Madejski Stadium on BBC Radio 5 live"Individual brilliance from Defoe. Bale ran off the ball, but it was a great hit and a fantastic finish. Prior to this the only thing that was missing was that Spurs couldn't find a goal. That's certainly changed."
-
1737:
Alan Green at Madejski Stadium for BBC Radio 5 live"I don't know if he's currently in a rented property Villas-Boas, but I'd buy a house son. The prices are low, so buy it now. You don't have to worry about P45s."
-
1737:SUBSTITUTION- Tottenham - Clint Dempsey on for Gareth Bale
-
1735:SUBSTITUTION- Tottenham - Tom Huddlestone on for Gylfi Sigurdsson
This substitution took place before the third Spurs goal. Huddlestone was initially banend for this match after his red card against Norwich, but this was rescinded. I think Tom should think about sending his hair off.
-
1732:GOAL- Reading 0-3 Tottenham - Jermain Defoe
That is game over. Tottenham break away with Jermain Defoe in possession and he is bought space by Gareth Bale's run to dart into before firing a shot into the far corner of the net past Alex McCarthy. AVB slams his fist into the air in triumph.
-
1729:GOAL- Reading 0-2 Tottenham - Gareth Bale
Tottenham finally claim the elusive second goal their display deserves as Kyle Walker shows determination on the right to find space and cross for Gareth Bale to find the back of the net from 12 yards with a scuffed shot that loops into the net with Alex McCarthy committed to a dive. It is perfectly timed from Spurs' point of view as Reading had looked to building up a head of steam. Surely that is game over.
-
1728:
Half-hearted penalty shouts for Reading as Mikele Leigertwood tumbles under a challenge from William Gallas but Howard Webb sees nothing to penalise the Tottenham defender for.
-
1726:
BBC Sport Chief Football Writer Phil McNulty at Madejski Stadium:"Reading making an effort to up the tempo and The Madejski Stadium responds - but Spurs still look so dangerous on the break."
-
1725:
Martin Keown at Madejski Stadium on BBC Radio 5 live"Gareth Bale is like an Olympic sprinter. It's as though he's got a twin engine, the way he goes past players. Tottenham have been majestic but Reading could get back into this..."
-
1725:
Saying that, the visitors remain a potent attacking threat and come close to a second goal as Gareth Bale breaks down the left before crossing for Jermain Defoe, who takes a touch to his left before firing wide.
-
1723:
Danny Guthrie nearly releases Adam Le Fondre in the box with a lofted pass but the ball skips away from the striker and into the arms of Brad Friedel. Tottenham's grip on the game isn't quite as solid as it was.
-
1722:
Tottenham will also be aware of the fact they have been in a similar position to this in a couple of Premier League games already this season and ended up throwing points away. Reading are certainly giving it a go. They earn a corner which causes a scramble in the box before Spurs clear.
-
Paul Newon on Twitter: "Reading look good after the break. Maybe they can get something here..."
Jamie Davis on Twitter: "Bale is getting marked out the game. Get the ball to Lennon and Defoe more - both are looking very dangerous."
Tom Houghton on Twitter: "Brian McDermott and Heston Blumenthal? Identical. Reading sponsored by Waitrose. Coincidence, or just one multitalented bald man?"
-
1719:
Martin Keown at Madejski Stadium on BBC Radio 5 live"There's some excellent last-ditch defending by Reading - particularly from Pearce and Gorkss - but Tottenham should be taking these kinds of chances."
-
1719:
An hour gone and Tottenham remain the dominant side. They will be mindful, though, that they have not extended their lead. Reading remain in the game.
-
Ben in London on 81111 on text: "How Spurs are not four up is beyond me! It's so stressful to watch them be so wasteful!"
Will, a Tottenham fan, on 81111 on text: "Re Sean the Southend fan (1704): While I can see your point, the flip side is with your "lowly expectations" you will never achieve anything. To dare is to do!"
-
1717:
Tottenham's Gareth Bale has been quiet today so far but he is given a chance to drive into Reading territory and shoot from central. It is well hit but wide. Soon after, Aaron Lennon's pace again takes him deep into the Reading box but Kaspars Gorkss cuts out his pull-back.
-
1713:
Tottenham have a great chance to double their lead on the break but waste it. Mousa Dembele brings the ball forward but is somewhat crowded out in the box before playing a short ball to Gareth Bale. He manages to squeeze over a cross but it is too strong for Jermain Defoe, who can only deflect the ball wide of goal.
-
1711:
I'm not sure if that was the follow-through from a tackle or an attempted shot from Sandro from 35 yards? Regardless, it goes well wide of the Reading goal.
-
1709:
Martin Keown at Madejski Stadium on BBC Radio 5 live"Reading are taking the game to Tottenham but Spurs look great on the break."
-
1709:
Tottenham's first attack of the second half sees Aaron Lennon and Jermain Defoe again burst away but the former's pass for the later in the box is poor and cut out by a Reading defender for a corner, which is cleared by the home side.
-
Richie Edwards on Twitter: "Re Shane (1656): I wouldn't trust a sack of potatoes in goal. It would be vulnerable to getting chipped!"
I agree. It's not a very a-peeling prospect
-
Martin in Reading on 81111 on text: "Ian Harte has been awful, totally at fault for the first goal. Playing someone with his pace against Lennon is laughable."
Sean, a Southend fan, on 81111 on text: "Reading all these comments makes me so glad my team has such lowly expectations sometimes. The negativity and reluctance to give people time to do their jobs properly in the top flight is depressing and systematic of modern day football supporters' unrealistic overnight expectations."
-
1704:
Reading start the half on the front foot as Ian Harte swings in a cross from the left but Jan Vertonghen heads clear for Spurs.
-
1702:KICK-OFF - SECOND HALF- Reading 0-1 Tottenham
-
1703:SUBSTITUTION- Reading - Adam Le Fondre on for Jem Karacan
-
Fulham midfielder Kerim Frei on Twitter: "Mousa Dembele is class!"
-
1656:
For those of you looking for signs as to how this game might go from here... In the last two matches between the clubs - both of which were at the Madejski Stadium - Tottenham have led 1-0 at half-time. They went on to win both by the same scoreline.
-
Luke Russell on Twitter: "Spurs should be more than one up and the players they have on the bench could easily make an impact on the game if needed."
William Fell on Twitter: "Spurs should be winning this by three or four given the number of chances they've had. Reading will be fired up for the second half."
Shane McMenemy on Twitter: "In the end the Friedel/Lloris debate is moot. Spurs could have put a sack of potatoes in goal and the score would be the same."
-
1654:
Martin Keown at Madejski Stadium on BBC Radio 5 live:"Reading are hanging in there, but McDermott needs to get into his players at half-time. They have got to believe they belong in the Premier League, and at the moment they look like they haven't that belief. Half-time couldn't have come quick enough for the Royals, and the good news for them is that it's only 1-0."
-
1650:
MOTD's Steve Wilson at Madejski Stadium:"Tottenham are leading by one but it could have been much worse for Reading. Jermaine Defoe is in the mood and the only shame for Andre-Villas Boas is that Spurs haven't added to their lead."
-
1649:
BBC Sport Chief Football Writer Phil McNulty at Madejski Stadium:"Commanding performance from Spurs in the opening 45 minutes. If Andre Villas-Boas has a complaint it will be that they should be further ahead."
-
1649:
Alan Green at Madejski Stadium for BBC Radio 5 live"It would be terribly wasteful of Spurs if they don't win this game, such has been their dominance in the first half."
-
1648:HALF-TIME- Reading 0-1 Tottenham
-
1647:
What may well be the final chance of the half goes to Tottenham as Gylfi Sigurdsson has a go from range but pulls his shot past the far post.
-
Phil McNulty, BBC Sport Chief Football Writer"One or two signs of life from Reading going forward in the last couple of minutes..."
-
1645:
Reading finishing the first half with a decent little spell. Jobi McAnuff's cross is headed behind for a corner, which Tottenham do well to clear. Soon after, a long ball forward his headed down into space in the box by Pavel Pogrebnyak but none of his team-mates had gambled and Spurs can clear with ease.
-
1642:
Martin Keown at Madejski Stadium on BBC Radio 5 live"Brian McDermott needs to get his team together at half-time and emphasise that they are showing just a little too much respect to this Tottenham team."
-
Tom, a Reading supporter, on 81111 on text: "Way too laid back. It's like we've forgotten we're playing in the Premier League."
Martin from Essex on 81111 on text: "I hope AVB is given time to settle. He's articulate, young and ambitious."
Arnie on 81111 on text: "If Spurs get three points today, AVB gets a short stay of execution. Anything less and he has to go, and I for one will be happy to see him go - 100% the wrong appointment."
-
1642:
Jermain Defoe is clearly revelling in the faith AVB has shown in him. He has the confidence to have a snap-shot from the edge of the box but puts it wide.
-
1641:
Finally, the home crowd have something to get animated about as Pavel Pogrebnyak charges into Tottenham territory but sees his shot from 15 yards blocked. The ball is returned to Jobi McAnuff on the left but his curling effort goes past the far post. Still, at least it is an attempt at goal.
-
1639:
Martin Keown at Madejski Stadium on BBC Radio 5 live"Look at Mousa Dembele in the midfield for Tottenham. A lot of other clubs would have been after him. He has different gears, doesn't he? He just motors past other players."
-
Phil McNulty, BBC Sport Chief Football Writer"Reading fans getting a little restless. Understandable, as it is becoming a bit of a comedy of errors at the back."
-
Chamath De Silva on Twitter: "Defoe looks up for it and is really ready to go. If Harry had started with him more last season, he would still be manager."
Paul Cernicharo on Twitter: "Bale looks lost when not out on the left. Would love to see him playing at left-back again."
Tyrone Lewis on Twitter: "Sometimes Lennon is too fast for his own good..."
-
1638:
Ian Harte has a nightmare at the other end. He gifts possession to Jermain Defoe, whose attempts to forge something with Aaron Lennon breaks down when the ball goes out of play for a goal kick.
-
1637:
Reading's best chance of getting back into this appears to be set-pieces. Ian Harte is over another but fails to beat the first man - Mousa Dembele - who heads clear. They can't afford to be so wasteful.
-
1634:
Martin Keown at Madejski Stadium on BBC Radio 5 live"Alex McCarthy will thank the Lord for his long-term future because he got away with that. It was a terrible mistake."
-
1634:
So close to a second Tottenham goal. Reading keeper Alex McCarthy has been good so far but his first error almost puts his side really up against it. McCarthy dwells on the ball in his own box and Jermain Defoe nips in to nick it off him. Defoe cuts back for Sigurdsson who looks certain to score but is denied right on the line by a last-ditch tackle from Alex Pearce. Big, big let off for the Royals.
-
Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand on Twitter: "Spurs started sharp. Defoe with the goal. When Reading were last in the Premier League going to their ground was always a tough and hard game."
-
1630:
Reading can't get a foothold in this. They enjoy their longest spell of possession in the game but it doesn't take long for the hard-working Spurs duo of Sandro and Mousa Dembele to wrestle the ball back off them.
-
1628:
BBC Sport Chief Football Writer Phil McNulty at Madejski Stadium:"Premier League newcomers Reading are looking a little over-awed here. Brian McDermott's team have not had a chance to find any rhythm as Spurs look dangerous every time they go forward. Atmosphere inside The Madjeski needs a lift."
-
Ben Heath on Twitter: "Flashes of what an AVB side can do. Brilliant."
Rachel T on Twitter: "AVB obviously has faith in Defoe - well rewarded!"
Shohidur Rahman on Twitter: "Reading can't handle Spurs' pace up front. Lennon, Bale and Defoe are going to cause a lot of problems."
-
Phil McNulty, BBC Sport Chief Football Writer"Reading looking unnerved at The Madejski. Need to try and get some possession - not happening so far."
-
1626:
Alan Green at Madejski Stadium for BBC Radio 5 live"At the moment Reading look like a Championship side against pretty good Premier League outfit in Tottenham."
-
1625:
Immediately down the other end, Jermain Defoe demonstrates superb skill to bring down a long ball forward and wrong-foot two Reading defenders in the process. Unfortunately for the visitors his next touch isn't so precise as he puts his shot past the post with the outside of his boot.
-
1624:
Reading have the chance to fashion something, again from a free-kick. Ian Harte whips it to the back post but is behind Alex Pearce, who cannot direct his header goalbound.
-
Sunderland midfielder David Meyler on Twitter: "Lennon's pace is a joke! Great finish by Defoe."
-
1623:
Spurs are really in the mood here. Sandro unleashes a low shot from 30 yards again calling Alex McCarthy into action but the Reading keeper is equal to it. The young keeper is being given a baptism of fire on his Premier League debut.
-
1621:
Gylfi Sigurdsson causes more problems for Reading with a whipped free-kick that curls over everyone in the box but is prevented from reaching the goal by a well-placed Alex McCarthy.
-
1620:
Martin Keown at Madejski Stadium on BBC Radio 5 live"It was a teasing pass from Gylfi Sigurdsson for Aaron Lennon to run onto. It was a dissecting pass, then cut back and a simple finish from Jermain Defoe into the bottom corner. Sigurdsson is such an intelligent player and it was an inviting ball played back to Defoe, who dispatched it."
-
1618:GOAL- Reading 0-1 Tottenham - Jermain Defoe (17 mins)
Tottenham lead and you can't say they don't deserve it. They've been the better side in the opening 17 minutes. Aaron Lennon's pace takes him away down the right following a pass from Gylfi Sigurdsson and his pull back is stroked into the far corner of the net by Jermain Defoe from inside the box. Andre Villas-Boas stands to applaud on the touchline. He'll be very pleased with the way his team have started this match. Reading have work to do.
-
Mark Rookes on Twitter: "Blatant penalty! No way was it a foul, awful decision from Webb."
Sekar C on Twitter: "As expected the big decision goes in favour of a relatively big club."
Paul Garrity on Twitter: "What an odd kit Spurs are wearing. Is it strange or just me? I'm not sure about it..."
-
1617:
Aaron Lennon has a lot of qualities, but height is not one of them. It costs him as Kyle Naughton's cross from the right bounces over his head and goes out of play for a goalkick.
-
1615:
Reading are battling their way back into the game after being under the cosh early on. Pavel Progrebnyak shows plenty of fighting spirit to retain possession in midfield despite the attention of a few Spurs players. His efforts are well-received by the home crowd.
-
Phil McNulty, BBC Sport Chief Football Writer"At last some class and originality from a brass band. Reading's version playing the theme from Terry and June..."
-
1613:
Martin Keown at Madejski Stadium on BBC Radio 5 live"It's a definite handball and penalty. The referee is only a few yards away and I cannot believe he hasn't seen that. It would have been a great save if that had been heading towards the goal..."
-
1612:
Reading's first attack sees a free-kick swung towards Alex Pearce at the back post but he is denied getting a head to it by the arm of Kyle Walker. Referee Howard Webb gives a free-kick against Pearce, though, for a push on Walker.
-
1611:
Alex McCarthy requires a change of boots, much like Pepe Reina at Sunderland yesterday. McCarthy is much more efficient that the Liverpool keeper. The key: taking your gloves off first.
-
1609:
It is all Tottenham early on here. Former Reading man Gylfi Sigurdsson looks to get in down the right but the ball just goes out of play. Reading need to get hold of the ball to stem the Spurs tide.
-
Matt in Romford on 81111 on text: "Re 1550: The media need to realise that it's attitudes such as Martin Keown's that are putting AVB under pressure. Why is his every decision scrutinized as if he's utterly clueless? No-one had the knives out over Harry's lack of rotation last season. Back off and let the guy do his job."
Jamie in London on 81111 on text: "Can't help but think that Ian Harte, however good he was a few years ago, is going to have a torrid time against Aaron Lennon today."
Calum, a Liverpool fan, on 81111 on text: "I'm sure I speak for every single Liverpool fan when I say that gesture by both sets of fans will be well and truly remembered for a long, long time. Thanks a lot."
-
1608:
Gareth Bale is involved again in Spurs' next attack as he manages to volley a ball that comes over his shoulder from deep. The onrushing Alex McCarthy is beaten but so is the post.
-
1606:
Tottenham continue in a positive manner as Gareth Bale swings over a free-kick from the right that Gylfi Sigurdsson meets with his head and draws a good save from Alex McCarthy. Jan Vertonghen follows up with a shot but again McCarthy is equal to it.
-
1605:
Martin Keown at Madejski Stadium on BBC Radio 5 live"You can already see the step up in quality if you watched Championship games here last season. Spurs zip the ball around and are a decent side."
-
West Brom keeper Ben Foster on Twitter: "Love Sundays. Lamb in the oven, cup of tea in my hand, football on the telly and kids playing in the garden. Already forgotten about yesterday."
-
1603:
Kyle Walker has the first shot of the day but the Tottenham full-back blazes it over the crossbar. A positive start from the visitors.
-
Phil McNulty, BBC Sport Chief Football Writer"Reading fans certainly like Gylfi Sigurdsson. Great ovation from The Madejski for the return of their former player."
-
1602:
Tottenham quickly on the attack but Aaron Lennon's cross from the right is cleared by a Reading defender.
-
1600:KICK-OFF- Reading v Tottenham (16:00 BST)
-
1557:
Reading can end a long unwanted record today. Infostrada point out that the Royals haven't scored from open play in their last 371 minutes of Premier League football at the Madejski Stadium, since Andre Bikey's 79th-minute winner in the 2-1 victory over Birmingham City in March 2008.
-
1555:
There is a stading ovation at the Madesjki Stadium for 'You'll Never Walk Alone' from both fans. Nice to see. Both teams are in the tunnel. We'll have a whole game of football for you very soon.
-
1552:
BBC Sport Chief Football Writer Phil McNulty at Madejski Stadium:Reading v Tottenham (16:00 BST)"Tottenham manager Andre Villas-Boas goes in search on his first victory against Reading at the Madejski Stadium to silence the sceptics who have yet to warm to his arrival at White Hart Lane. It will be no easy task against Reading, who have only played twice this season but got a draw against Stoke before impressing in defeat at Chelsea. There is a real atmosphere of excitement around the stadium for a game that alreadt carries plenty of weight for both sides."
-
1550:
Martin Keown at Madejski Stadium on BBC Radio 5 live"Tottenham have bought Clint Dempsey in, so why are they not using him straightaway? The manager has opted for Jermain Defoe today, but Emmanuel Adebayor ended the season on fire. So odd again from the manager. Their results have been indifferent and I expected Spurs to get out of the blocks quicker."
-
Phil McNulty, BBC Sport Chief Football Writer"No surprise that Friedel keeps his place for Spurs ahead of Lloris. Only logical decision."
-
Leigh Brett on Twitter: "McCarthy to rise to the occasion. Cracking keeper."
Lunar Sea on Twitter: "Strange Spurs line-up. No rotation on shaky centrebacks (Gallas!), no Benoit Assou-Ekotto or Clint Dempsey and Adebayor still on bench! At least Dembele is starting."
Peter White on Twitter: "If either Rogers or AVB get the sack this season then I'll completely lose faith in football. How are fans so impatient?"
-
1549:
Much of the talk before this game has been about Tottenham's keeper situation and whether Brad Friedel would be selected ahead of Hugo Lloris. However, Friedel's opposite number today is worth highlighting. Alex McCarthy may not be Reading's first choice keeper, but having seen him play a few times I can vouch that he is a superb young keeper. I hope this doesn't put the commentators curse on him but he is more than capable of filling Adam Federici's gloves.
-
1545:
What will be heartening for Spurs is that they are unbeaten in their last five league and cup games against Reading.
However, the Royals did not fail to register a win in the first three games of their previous two Premier League seasons (2006-07, 2007-08). They have to win this game to preserve that record.
-
1543:
The last time Tottenham failed to win in their first four Premier League matches was in the 2008-09 season, when they failed to win in their first eight under Spanish boss Juande Ramos. He was then sacked.
-
Jacob Carr on Twitter: "Am I the only person who loves AVB and his philosophy? Would love him at Liverpool."
Josh Hobbs on Twitter: "Not sure why AVB is persisting with Defoe as a lone striker when he has Adebayor on the bench?"
Christopher Bell on Twitter: "Hugo Lloris will be desperate for Friedel to have a 'mare. £11.8m for a back-up keeper..."
-
1541:
Tottenham manager Andre Villas-Boas: "We know that we have to increase our responsibilities to the fans and give them something to cheer about… It's a different proposition from last year [at Chelsea] but to be in the Premier League surrounded by the best teams and best players is really gratifying."
-
1540:
So the heat is on Andre Villas-Boas if media reports are to be believed. Tottenham are winless so far this league season, but haven't disgraced themselves and are still in the very early days of his reign.
It is amazing how a man who has been so successful elsewhere has found it so tough in this country. Taking into account his disastrous spell as Chelsea boss last season, the Portuguese has won only three of his last 15 Premier League games.
-
1538:
Alan Green at Madejski Stadium for BBC Radio 5 live"If today's single newspaper report is right about AVB and he has three games left to save his job, then the Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy should be charged with bringing the game into disrepute. It would be absolutely outrageous, and I don't believe it but what if it happens? What if there is a disagreement between Levy and Villas-Boas after just a few weeks?"
-
1537:
Tottenham boss Andre Villas-Boas: "Out of respect for Brad, the form that he has been in, we will ho with him in the Premier League, but it makes sense to prepare for our future and we did that by signing Hugo Lloris. He did not express any discomfort, he is completely happy."
-

Referee: Howard Webb (S Yorkshire)
-
1534:
Martin Keown at Madejski Stadium on BBC Radio 5 live"AVB doesn't inspire me. I think he talks too much in his press conferences and needs to keep things simple. Sometimes I think he over-complicates things. As for the Hugo Lloris situation, he should have told the French manager to keep his nose out as he manages his own club."
-
1531:BREAKING TEAM NEWS
Brad Friedel continues in goal for Tottenham. Moussa Dembele starts as does Kyle Naughton, in place of Benoit Assou-Ekotto. Clint Dempsey and Emmanuel Adebayor are on the bench. Keeper Adam Federici is not in the Reading squad because of injury so Alex McCarthy makes his Premier League debut.
-
1530:
Martin Keown at Madejski Stadium on BBC Radio 5 live"It's a bright future for Reading but they have retained people who were there at the start. The overriding thing at this football club is that there's a hell of a lot of respect around. Reading are very effective in the way that they play and the players understand their roles."
-
GET INVOLVED
Mark in east London on 81111 on text: "Just arrived three hours later, one puncture, lots of wind... C'mon, Reading make it worth it!"
Phil from Oxfordshire on 81111 on text: "In situ at the Madejski to hopefully oversee a Spurs victory, though Reading will pose problems. AVB needs our support and time to impose his style on the squad. However, we Spurs fans aren't noted for our pragmatism or patience!"
Tom in Reading on 81111 on text: "All this focus on AVB is great from a Reading perspective. It's like we're not even playing and we always thrive away from the limelight."

This week we were provided with a Premier League guide by our stat boffins. This came complete with facts on individual players. Here are a couple of Reading v Tottenham ones for you to feast on...
Woe betide any defender who allows Adam Le Fondre space in the box, but did you know Fondre means 'to pounce' in French?
Sandro loves playing darts and says he plays "most weeks" at his house with legendary player, and BBC Sport commentator, Bobby George.

1520:
Reading have announced that they will honour the 96 Liverpool fans who lost their lives at Hillsborough on 15 April 1989 this afternoon.
A club statement read: "After an emotional week for everyone involved in the tragedy, and indeed the sport as a whole, the Royals would like to show our solidarity with all those affected.
"With that in mind, shortly before kick-off this afternoon, the anthem 'You'll Never Walk Alone' will be played out over the stadium speakers.
"Reading remember the 96."
-
Joseph Jack Evans on Twitter: "Loving the passion from Solbakken. Think it will take two to three years to get it right but at the moment he seems right for the job"
-
1517:
MOTD's Steve Wilson at Madejski Stadium:Reading v Tottenham (16:00 BST)"Chelsea's European commitments, a storm in Sunderland and the international break mean 25 days have elapsed since Reading's last league game. But although pointless, the gutsy draw with Stoke and the impressive display in defeat at Stamford Bridge were encouraging. Tottenham supporters have felt their brows gradually furrowing. Points were dropped at home to West Brom and Norwich, Modric and van der Vaart have gone, Dempsey and Dembele have arrived, but AVB's first win has not."
-
1515:
And so attention switches to this afternoon's Premier League game between Reading and Tottenham...
-
1514:
BBC Radio 5 liveFormer Wolves and Leicester City goalkeeper Tim Flowers is at Molineux: "It wasn't to be for Leicester, after a vastly-improved performance in the second half. That's a big result for Wolves, they needed that and they are on the move. 20,000 were here to see that and it's a big win for Stale Solbakken, there's no doubt about that."
-
1513:
Wolves claim their second win of 2012 to lift them up to 10th in the Championship table with seven points from five games. Leicester drop to 16th, a point worse off than Wanderers.
-
1512:
BBC Radio 5 liveReading chairman Sir John Madejski on 5 live Sport: "I do believe we have something special here at Reading, what we call The Reading Way. We have a great manager, great players and a great ground. We sing off the same hymn sheet, everybody working together towards the same end. I think some clubs don't have the same heart as we do here, or maybe that's just me being romantic. Take my manager, Brian McDermott. He's been here for 12 years, and he has a real bond with the players."
-
1509:FULL-TIME- Wolves 2-1 Leicester
-
1508:
Wolves survive another scare as David Nugent's shot from the edge of the area is blocked.
-
1507:
Leicester regain possession and come forward down the left but Ben Marshall's curling cross beats everyone in the box and the danger is gone.
-
1506:
Half of the added five minutes of injury time are up and Wolves have taken the sting out of the Leicester threat by playing the majority of it in Foxes territory.
-
1504:
It is five minutes of added time. The Wolves fans groan with heightened worry.
-
1503:
The added time was almost made redundant, though, by Leicester's Wes Morgan who steers a Bjorn Sigurdarson low cross towards his own goal before Kasper Schmeichel scrambles back to prevent it crossing the line.
-
1502:
Word on the street/dugout is that we're going to have five minutes of added time. That'll be a big boost for Leicester.
-
1501:
Leicester continue to pile forward. Paul Konchesky's deep ball into the box is meant for Wes Morgan, who has remained up following a cleared corner, but he is beaten in the air by a Wolves defender. Four minutes to go. 2-1 Wolves.
-
1458:
Big chance for Kevin Doyle to seal the game for Wolves. Bakary Sako's low cross from the right is behind a Leicester defender but into the feet of Doyle in the box. However, his shot on the turn is straight into the arms of Kasper Schmeichel.
-
1457:
We are into the last 10 minutes at Molineux and Leicester remain firmly on the front foot. Danny Drinkwater drives a shot from an angle on the rignt outside the box but it swings across goal and wide of the far post.
-
Phil McNulty, BBC Sport Chief Football Writer"Glowing reference from Reading manager Brian McDermott for former star Gylfi Sigurdsson as he returns today with Spurs: 'One of our own...'"
-
1455:YELLOW CARD- Wolves - Karl Henry
A foul by Henry earns him a booking and gives Leicester a free-kick 30 yards out. Ben Marshall hits it but fluffs the effort way over the goal.
-
1452:HITS THE WOODWORK
Leicester so, so close to an equaliser. Anthony Knockaert drives towards the Wolves box before playing a neat pass that gives Martyn Waghorn a clear sight of goal. His shot beats Carl Ikeme but ricochets off the base of the post and away. He should have scored. Wolves are living very dangerously.
-
1452:
Ritchie De Laet is providing the ammunition for Leicester from the right wing. His cross is perfect for Martyn Waghorn in the box but the striker's view is obsructed and he mistimes his jump, thus missing the header completely. Soon after, De Laet swings over another ball, which David Nugent meets, but he is falling backwards and can only direct his header agonisingly past the far post.
-
1449:SUBSTITUTION- Wolves - Bjorn Sigurdarson on for Sylvan Ebanks-Blake
-
Tom West on Twitter: "Wow. Paul Konchesky. Pick that one out."
Luke Fraser on Twitter: "Paul Konchesky, absolute belter..."
-
1447:SUBSTITUTION- Wolves - Razak Boukari on for Slawomir Peszko
-
1446:
BBC Radio 5 liveFormer Wolves and Leicester City goalkeeper Tim Flowers is at Molineux: "Leicester started very, very brightly after half time. Nigel Pearson obviously got into them and their tempo has been raised with much more urgency about them. What a goal from Paul Konchesky. There looked to be nothing on, but he creamed it into the top corner from almost 40 yards. Game on now!"
-
1446:
Wolves look to hit back and make their lead more secure again. Bakary Sako's corner is looped up by a header in the box but claimed by City keeper Kasper Schmeichel.
-
1445:SUBSTITUTION- Leicester - Martyn Waghorn on for Jamie Vardy
-
1443:GOAL- Wolves 2-1 Leicester - Paul Konchesky (70 mins)
What a goal! That is an absolute screamer! Paul Konchesky doesn't score many but when he does they tend to be special. He picks up the ball about 35 yards from goal, gets it out of his feet and blazes a rising shot that beats Carl Ikeme en route to the far top corner. Game well and truly on.
-
1443:
Anthony Knockaert has made a difference for Leicester since he came on at half time. However, he hasn't altered the scoreline despite a number of efforts. His latest shot - from outside the area - flies across and wide of goal.
-
Barry, a Wolves fan, on 81111 on text: "Imagine if we still had Steven Fletcher with Bakary Sako whipping them in... we would be unstoppable!"
-
1439:SUBSTITUTION- Wolves - David Edwards on for Tongo Doumbia
-
1439:
Leicester just can't get that all important goal. Ritchie De Laet is released down the right and provides a good cross, which David Nugent heads down for Anthony Knockaert. The substitute has his back to goal and turns sharply but his shot is blocked by the diving Christophe Berra.
-
1434:
Wolves are gaining greater control of the play now after weathering Leicester's early push for a goal. Sylvan Ebanks-Blake is the latest man to have a go for the home side but curls his effort past the far post from the edge of the area.
-
1431:YELLOW CARD- Leicester - David Nugent
Nugent is booked for felling Slawomir Peszko near the Wolves box.
-
1431:
They need to push forward but Leicester also need to be careful at the back. They are caught out as Bakary Sako beats the defence wide left, but survive when Kasper Schmeichel gets down low to save at his near post from Sako's shot.
-
1428:
Leicester continue to try and find a way back into the game, but are thwarted. Ben Marshall's corner is glanced on by Jamie Vardy at the near post but flies past the far post. Soon after, Danny Drinkwater blazes a long-range shot over the bar. 35 minutes to go. It remains 2-0 to Wolves.
-
Mike Mace, a Leicester supporter, on Twitter: "Poor defending and no real creation is costing us. We still lack that cutting edge midfielder."
Duncan MacLeod on Twitter: "It's all very good having a new stand, but Wolves can't seem to fill it!"
-
1425:
Bakary Sako is useful from set-pieces. He beats the wall with a free-kick from 25 yards and would have found the corner of the net but for a diving save from Kasper Schmeichel.
-
1423:
BBC Radio 5 liveFormer West Brom, Sunderland and Everton defender Kevin Kilbane on 5 live Sport: "Arsenal have been playing very well, and the defence handles everything that comes into the box. But the main man for them now is Santi Cazorla. He is excellent and is creating so much."
-
1423:
Leicester have started the second half well. And they go so close to getting a goal back as Ben Marshall's cross loops into the box and is only prevented from finding the net by the boot of Wolves keeper Carl Ikeme, who had to react quickly as his view was obstructed by Jamie Vardy.
-
1420:
Anthony Knockaert is straight into the action for Leicester, driving in from the left, and is denied a shooting chance by a defensive tackle that hammers the ball off his legs and behind.
-
1419:
BBC Radio 5 liveFormer Tottenham assistant manager Joe Jordan on 5 live Sport: "I think Manchester City are playing well but not brilliantly. Stoke gave them a tough time yesterday. City are not performing as well as they did last year, but they have a group of winners and in big games they turn up."
-
1418:KICK-OFF - SECOND HALF- Wolves 2-0 Leicester
-
1418:SUBSTITUTION- Leicester - Anthony Knockaert on for Lloyd Dyer
-
1417:
BBC Radio 5 liveFormer Wolves and Leicester City goalkeeper Tim Flowers is at Molineux: "Wolves will be much the happier at half-time. Leicester are struggling desperately to cope with the dead-ball situations and the restarts. The player of the half for me has to be Bakary Sako, a big powerful player who has given Ritchie De Laet a torrid time on the left. He's got pace and end product, and Wolves have profited from his deliveries."
-
1416:
The pressure is all on Leicester at Molineux following a first half that has sees them trailing 2-0. The Foxes have options on the bench in the shape of Martyn Waghorn, Marko Futacs and Jermaine Beckford, but you sense they'll have to hit early in the second half if they are to get anything from the match. They created chances in the first 45 minutes so it isn't beyond them.
Wolves manager Stale Solbakken will no doubt be impressing on his team at half time the need to keep it very tight early on in the second half. One goal conceded and they may start to wobble.
-
1410:
This week, the Champions League group stages get under way with a bang as, among other games, Manchester City travel to Real Madrid.
Madrid manager Jose Mourinho has had some very interesting things to say ahead of the match in Spain. "We have only really played well in the Spanish Super Cup. Nowhere else. I am worried that in this moment I don't have a team," admitted the former Chelsea manager. "There are very few heads who are committed and concentrated."
There has been chat recently that star player Cristiano Ronaldo isn't happy at the Bernabeu, but it would appear the problems run deeper.
-
1405:BBC Sport's Owen Phillips reports:Wolves 2-0 Leicester
"Some pretty slapdash defending by both sides has played a big part in an open and exciting game at Molineux. The hosts lead thanks to two tidy finishes from set-pieces but the chances are flowing at either end and 2-0 is by no means a convincing lead."
-
Leicester fan Oli Page on Twitter: "Once again we are playing well and losing. Story of our season so far."
-
1403:HALF-TIME- Wolves 2-0 Leicester
-
1403:
David Nugent is dragged over for a word with the referee after he is penalised for backing in to his marker. The Leicester man continues to plead his case but he is told in no uncertain terms that chatting back ain't on.
-
1401:
Leicester respond down the other end as David Nugent is afforded space to fire a shot after getting in behind the Wolves defence, but it rises over the bar. We're going to have two minutes of added time.
-
1359:
Kevin Doyle has two bites of the cherry to put this game out of Leicester's reach. The Republic of Ireland striker is sent on his way by a superb threaded ball from Sylvan Ebanks-Blake before stinging the palms of Kasper Schmeichel with a shot from inside the area. The ball returns to Doyle, but he is tackled as he lines up a second shot by Wes Morgan.
-
1355:
BBC Radio 5 liveFormer Manchester United forward Joe Jordan on 5 live Sport: "Paul Scholes has such vision of what's around him. His team-mates have such confidence in him they will play him a pass even when he has someone on him, because he constantly moves to get on the ball and influence the game. He can see the game and the next pass and other players know that. Upstairs, in his head, his football brain is fantastic."
-
Adam Reid on Twitter: "Wolves have put up some fight after the sales of Fletcher and Jarvis. Similar to Fulham after losing Dempsey and Dembele."
Oli Page on Twitter: "Two defensive mistakes could prove to be costly for Leicester here, especially when playing against 12 men..."
Matt on Twitter: "Nice to see The Pog, Harte and Gylfi all on the front page of BBC Football!"
-
1355:
Matthew James' first proper involvement in the game since coming on for Leicester sees him line up a shot from distance - following some neat build-up play from the visitors - before dragging it harmlessly wide. City are plugging away here, but are struggling to fashion clear openings in the Wolves box.
-
1352:
BBC Radio 5 liveFormer Tottenham assistant manager Joe Jordan on 5 live Sport: "Harry Redknapp told the players a number of times last season that he expected his team to challenge for the Premier League. We had such a run last season that we really were, we were competing in third and challenging. And I don't think Harry being linked with England affected the players. Now AVB is trying to tinker with the team to make it better, but it's a very difficult thing to do."
-
1351:
Ben Marshall has another go from distance for Leicester. It is decently struck and destined for the bottom corner of the goal, but Wolves keeper Carl Ikeme is well-placed to dive low and block before gathering at the second attempt.
-
1349:
Half an hour gone in this game at Molineux and it has been pretty even on the balance of play. Leicester have had as many, if not more chances than Wolves, but they trail, largely because of their own defensive frailty.
-
1346:SUBSTITUTION- Leicester - Matthew James on for Andy King
King apparently has a hamstring problem, meaning former Manchester United midfielder James is introduced.
-
1345:
BBC Radio 5 liveFormer West Brom, Sunderland and Everton defender Kevin Kilbane on 5 live Sport: "Brad Friedel has been outstanding over the years. It will be a brave manager to drop him, particularly after his wonderful performance the other week. But now Tottenham have got the French number one, and he's got to expect to be playing."
-
1344:GREAT SAVE!
That is a great save from home keeper Carl Ikeme. He flings himself to his right to claw Ben Marshall's goalbound 20-yard shot up and over the crossbar and deny Leicester a route back into the game.
-
1344:
With his defence in disarray so far this game, Leicester's Kasper Schmeichel takes responsibility to clear a Wolves corner with a diving forward save. It almost sets Jamie Vardy away at the other end, but he is halted by a superb tackle from Stephen Ward.
-
1342:
At 2-0, Wolves are looking good to claim only their second home win of 2012. But, as we all know, 2-0 is the most dangerous scoreline in football.
-
1340:
BBC Radio 5 liveFormer Wolves and Leicester City goalkeeper Tim Flowers is at Molineux: "It's been quite a sedate start and the referee has been a little picky. It was from a free-kick he gave, a 50/50 decision, that lead to Wolves's first goal. It was a great delivery and Sylvain Ebanks-Blake did what he does best at the back stick from three yards out. With the second, Ritchie De Laet was completely ball-watching. It's been two set pieces and two goals for Wolves."
-
1337:GOAL- Wolves 2-0 Leicester - Richard Stearman (21 mins)
Wolves extend their lead. The corner resulting from the Kevin Doyle saved shot is met by a swinging boot from Richard Stearman, whose effort bounces into the ground and beats Kasper Schmeichel en route to the roof of the net. In keeping with the theme of this match so far, it was once again poor defending to allow Stearman space to score against his former side.
-
1337:
More poor defending - this time from Leicester's Wes Morgan to gift the ball to the home side - gives Wolves a chance, which would have resulted in a goal but for Kasper Schmeichel tipping Kevin Doyle's shot behind.
-
1335:
Leicester have already shown some sloppiness in defence, but Wolves are not immune either as Andy King is allowed to gain possession and lay off for Danny Drinkwater. The midfielder's shot rises high over the bar, though, from 20 yards.
-
1334:
Kasper Schmeichel's dad Peter - the highly-decorated ex-Manchester United keeper - is in the house. No pressure Kasper.
-
Tim from Crawley on 81111 on text: "I worry about AVB and Spurs. I want his management to work but I don't think anyone will forget the Chelsea debacle. Which means anything but a convincing win today will mean he will become more unpopular than Steve Kean was at Blackburn last year!"
Nick in Gillingham on 81111 on text: "AVB really needs three points today to kick off Spurs' season. Anything less and he'll start to face some familiar questions from his time at Chelsea."
Sean on 81111 on text: "All of the media are speculating about how everyone at Spurs is fed up of AVB already. Have a listen to us Spurs fans today and see if thats true. AVB's blue and white army!"
-
1332:
Leicester waste a great chance to hit straight back. The Wolves defence go to sleep, allowing David Nugent to break clear down the right with Jamie Vardy free in the middle. However, Nugent dwells on the ball and when his cross does come a covering defender is able to cut it out, much to Vardy's frustration.
-
1328:GOAL- Wolves 1-0 Leicester - Sylvan Ebanks-Blake (13 mins)
Wolves strike first. Bakary Sako's free-kick is floated over the top of the Leicester defence and to the back post, where Sylvan Ebanks-Blake is well-placed to head into the top corner. It is a good finish, but City need to look at themselves for allowing the striker so much space.
-
1328:
BBC Radio 5 liveFormer Manchester United forward Joe Jordan on 5 live Sport: "When I was at Man Utd the Liverpool fans never chanted about Munich. I cannot ever recall that. I can't think what a fan gets out of chanting that. The people yesterday who are found guilty of that [Hillsborough chanting] should be banned for life."
-
1327:
Leicester fashion the best chance of the game so far as the ball is fed in to Andy King in the box on an angle on the right. He has defenders around him and delays his shot before firing an effort that is deflected over the bar by the boot of a Wolves defender. Incisive play from the visitors.
-
1326:
The crowd is riled at Molineux as another Leicester foul, this time from Wes Morgan, fails to provoke the referee to reach for his yellow card. It's blood and thunder stuff.
-
1324:
Down the other end Jamie Vardy - Leicester's £1m signing from non-league Fleetwood - chases on to a long ball forward but is denied by Wolves keeper Carl Ikeme, who rushes out of his box to head away from danger.
-
1323:
From the resulting free-kick, Bakary Sako - on home debut - has a pop but it curls just over the top corner of Kasper Schmeichel's goal.
-
1322:
Another foul, this time by Paul Konchesky on Kevin Doyle, gives Wolves a free-kick 25 yards from goal. It was a late challenge and the Leicester defender is lucky to escape without a booking.
-
1320:
Nothing like an early foul to liven things up. Wolves midfielder Tonga Doumbia goes through Lloyd Dyer and a free-kick is given. No booking, though.
-
1316:KICK-OFF- Wolves v Leicester (13:15 BST)
-
1314:
Wolves manager Stale Solbakken takes faith from his side's home form and welcomes back fit-again skipper Karl Henry: "If we pick up three points today then suddenly things look better. We have struggled in our away games with the physical side of things but today we are at home and have four points from two games. Karl is a leader and has a great knowledge and is one of the guys who can communicate."
Leicester City manager Nigel Pearson is not concerned by the fact his side have lost both their away league games this season: "We are fully aware that coming to places like this it will be difficult. They have made changes in a lots of way in the summer but we have been playing pretty despite the away results. We have played some good football and had a little bit of bad luck."
-
1313:
Other than that it was just your usual Saturday full of goals, great attacking, sloppy defending, penalty controversy and manager's chucking stickle bricks out of their pram at officials.
Three penalty shouts were notable - Danny Welbeck at Old Trafford, Luis Suarez at Sunderland and Eden Hazard at QPR. Only Welbeck's was given, but was missed anyway. Personally, I don't think any of them were penalties. I know some of you feel differently.
-
Tom West on Twitter: "Leicester are due to give someone a spanking. Hopefully it comes today and we can get some away points on the board."
Matt Cartwright on Twitter: "Being Welsh and a Spurs fan means it's not been a good start to the season. Hoping that all changes today."
Matt Fallon on Twitter: "As an Arsenal fan the only thing that could make me any happier is a Spurs loss. Come on Reading!"
-
1309:
Another big talking point was Manchester United's condemnation of a series of tasteless chants heard during their 4-0 win over Wigan. A minority of home supporters taunted Liverpool fans in the early minutes at Old Trafford, ignoring boss Sir Alex Ferguson's pleas for calm following a report into the Hillsborough disaster. "The club deplore it. The manager has made the club's position very clear on this matter," a United statement read. "It is now up to the fans to respect that."
-
1307:BBC Sport's Owen Phillips reports:Wolves v Leicester (13:15 BST)
"Wolves welcome back skipper Karl Henry after a hamstring injury, one of two changes from the side beaten by Cardiff City in their last outing. Richard Stearman also returns, replacing Ronald Zubar in defence. Leicester's only change from their 1-0 home win over Blackpool sees defender Ritchie De Laet restored to the defence following a back injury. The summer signing from Manchester United replaces Sean St. Ledger, who drops to the bench."
-
1306:
So, looking back to yesterday for a minute... most of the day was built around a couple of handshakes that didn't happen. If you really want to, you can watch the moment Anton Ferdinand However, that last sentence pretty much described everything that happened in the incident.
-
1303:LINE-UPS- Wolves v Leicester (13:15 BST)

-
1301:BBC Sport's Owen Phillips reports:Wolves v Leicester (13:15 BST)
"West and East Midlands rivals meet at Molineux, where Wolves need a win or a draw to climb out of the bottom three. Leicester have failed to pick up a point from their opening two away games. But the Foxes were widely tipped for promotion this season and despite mixed early-season results, manager Nigel Pearson says performances have been decent and they could still break into the play-off spots with a victory."
-
1259:
BBC Radio 5 liveFormer Wolves and Leicester City goalkeeper Tim Flowers is at Molineux: "Second from bottom is not the start that Wolves would have hoped for this season, but it is very early days. But it's a big game today, and a Midlands derby. Wolves will need to start getting a head of steam up, especially in front of their own fans. They are demanding supporters who want to see quality football.
"Leicester will certainly see the play-offs as a minimum requirement this season. My view is that they will be there or thereabouts, and they look to have a very strong squad. They are a big, powerful unit with cover in all positions."

As I've just mentioned, we have only two games to bring you from the professional world of English men's football. Don't ask me why, I don't do the scheduling. Fortunately, both games are packed with intrigue.
First up, two of the Championships big-hitters Wolves and Leicester clash at Molineux, with the recently-relegated former in particular looking to spark their season into life.
After that, Andre Villas-Boas continues his early-season Tottenham fire fight at Reading.

40 games, 116 goals, handshakes that didn't happen, tastleless chants, a "basketball" goal and penalty controversies made for a pretty madcap Saturday in the top four divisions of English football.
With just two games on offer, Sunday promises to be a far more sedate affair. But that's no excuse for you to go swanning off and doing something productive with your life. Oh no. You'll sit on the settee in your pants and see this through to the bitter end.
