Mansfield Town failed to take advantage of playing the entire second half against ten men and were forced to settle for a draw against AFC Telford.

Lee Beevers' shot saw Stags lead but a Ryan Tafazolli own goal and a Richard Davies strike put the hosts 2-1 ahead.

A pulsating first half ended with Mansfield seemingly in control as Liam Chilvers was sent off for a foul on Jake Speight, who netted from the spot.

But the visitors were unable to make their extra man count after the break.

AFC Telford United manager Andy Sinton told BBC Radio Shropshire:

"Liam is a very honest boy, he said it was minimal contact.

"Speight went down too easily and I am getting fed up with costly decisions by the referee.

"I am immensely proud of my players to have had a go and take Mansfield toe-to-toe today."

Mansfield Town manager Paul Cox told BBC Radio Nottingham:

"I think the disappointing thing for me was the way we conceded the two sloppy goals once we'd gone in front.

"But then I think second half we weren't brave - we changed the system, we went 4-4-2, put two wingers on - we made bad decisions.

"You can't have a go at the work ethic they put in today but our decision-making has got to be better."
