Chris Brown notched a late equaliser for Doncaster against Stevenage, who remain unbeaten in League One.
Oliver Risser glanced in Filipe Morais' cross to give the visitors the lead, while David Cotterill thought he had equalised only to be flagged offside.
But the hosts were level when Rob Jones headed Cotterill's free-kick back across goal, allowing Brown to fire in on the turn.
Boro keeper Chris Day did well to deny late efforts from Jones and Brown.
VIEW FROM THE DRESSING ROOM
Doncaster Rovers manager Dean Saunders tells BBC Radio Sheffield:
"I think we should have won the game.
"We didn't play particularly well in the first 20 minutes.
"They scored early from a set play and then just sat back, they've gone nine games unbeaten, they've lost three games and nearly got promoted last year, so they know what they're doing.
"And provided we win the next one, that's not a bad result."
Stevenage manager Gary Smith told BBC Three Counties Radio:
"I thought it would be a tough affair and it proved to be exactly that, so I'm very pleased to come away with another point on the board.
"I made changes (to the line-up) because I thought it would be a little bit more of a physical challenge here, but it wasn't just about that it was also about playing, and I thought we did both - our counter-attacking was very good and we withstood plenty of Doncaster pressure.
"I thought the free-kick (which lead to the Doncaster equaliser) was a little bit soft, I'm very confused and bemused about that.
"I'd have taken eight matches unbeaten and a point away at a side that has just come down and shown all the credentials to go back, but when you're six or seven minutes away from all three points, it's a little bit gut-wrenching not to have taken two more."
