Alfreton boss Nicky Law defends honest approach
Alfreton Town manager Nicky Law has defended his right to criticise his players in public.
The Reds picked up just four points from their opening six games of the Blue Square Bet Premier season and Law lambasted some of his side's displays.
“We didn't want the Lincoln game to be a one-game wonder and then go and lose again ”
But they have won their last two games in style, including a fine 3-0 victory over Luton Town last Saturday.
And Law said: "You can't hide behind others. It's a man's world. You can't just go pussyfooting around people."
He added: "We have to man up and take it on the chin. We did that at Lincoln and put in a real powerful performance and did that again against Luton and I am just delighted. That was a fantastic performance against Luton.
"If we'd have got beaten and put that performance in I would have been happy because I couldn't have asked any more from the players.
"If we put in performances like that week in, week out, we will win our fair share of games. As long as they put in that level of effort in, I will never fault them.
"We didn't want the Lincoln game to be a one-game wonder and then go and lose again. We wanted something to build on. We want to mount something now and have a go."
