Wolves part company with ex-manager Terry Connor
Wolverhampton Wanderers have sacked assistant manager Terry Connor.
Connor, who had a four-month spell as interim boss last season following Mick McCarthy's dismissal, leaves Wolves after 13 years at Molineux.
Stale Solbakken was named the club's permanent manager this summer after Connor was unable to save Wolves from relegation from the Premier League.
Terry Connor factfile
- Scored on his Leeds debut as a 17-year-old
- Made over 100 appearances for Leeds, scoring 22 goals
- Won one England Under-21 cap in November 1986, when he played and scored against Yugoslavia
- As a coach he helped Bristol City to promotion in 1998
- He was promoted to assistant manager at Wolves in 2008
- Became Wolves manager in February 2012 after Mick McCarthy's departure, but the club were relegated to the Championship
- Appointed new Wolves boss Stale Solbakken's assistant in June 2012
A Wolves statement said: "Terry leaves Wolves with the very best wishes and thanks of everyone at the club."
Connor, who joined the club's coaching staff in 1999 under then-boss Colin Lee, became assistant manager to McCarthy in 2008.
Following McCarthy's departure in February, Connor was given the managerial position until the end of the season, after Walter Smith, Alan Curbishley and Brian McDermott all ruled themselves out of contention for the job.
During Connor's tenure as manager, Wolves failed to win any of their final 13 games of the season, gaining only four points from an available 39 and finishing bottom of the Premier League.
Connor, 49, reverted to his assistant manager role when Norwegian Solbakken was named as McCarthy's permanent successor in June.
However, Wolves have only picked up four points from their first four league games of this season.

Why do WWFC supporters keep having a go at Moxey?
He runs a tight ship. WWFC is a business, it cannot be a free for all. Do we want a stable club or to be a Portsmouth. In business, expenditure has to be justified and this is what Moxey oversee's.
Be very careful what you wish for.
Money has been made available, but signings / style of play has failed.
Is this Moxey's fault?
I don't think so.

This is the correct move by Wolves. TC has supported a number of managers and I think this shows. A change was needed.
The recent sale of 'stars' was good business.
As an ex season ticket holder I felt aggrieved to be contributing towards Kightly and Jarvis's wages. Both very average and over rated.

Although I am a Palace fan, Wolves are sort-of a second team for me, and have seen them play at 5 or 6 grounds over the years. A proper football club, with loyal fans. I am sorry to see Connor go. Was gutted he couldn't keep them up because they should be in the Prem and he seemed to genuinely care. Good luck to him in the future and up the wolves (except against Palace).

Not a fan but my dad was, so always look out for their result. Seems harsh after 13 years of loyal service, surely they could've found a role for him somewhere?
From what I've seen and heard of Moxey, he seems to love his own voice and spends far too much time in front of the mirror. That other perma-tanned idiot, Simon Jordan, springs to mind.
