Newport County stopped a run of two defeats in the Blue Square Bet Premier with a hard-earned point against Stockport County at Rodney Parade.
Aaron O'Connor was just off-side as the Newport striker poked into the net after good work from Danny Crow.
Stockport also survived a late penalty appeal when Crow was sent sprawling.
The visitors had fewer chances but Sam Sheridan's 20-yard strike needed a flying save from Lenny Pidgeley, while Alex Meaney headed onto the crossbar.
VIEWS FROM THE DRESSING ROOM
Newport County manager Justin Edinburgh told BBC Radio Wales: "I certainly felt first half we look slightly anxious and nervous and I understand it's a new thing for us to have back-to-back defeats.
"But the thing that please me second half was that we tried to play, we got back to trying to work the ball and shorter passing. That would be the positive.
"We've nipped the defeats in the bud and again we've remained unbeaten at home, but all-in-all it was a bit of a scrappy game.
"Things play on players' minds and I think Tuesday night's result [a 2-1 loss at Dartford] played its part in our first-half performance here today."
