Phil Trainer struck a late equaliser to earn Telford a 1-1 draw with Lincoln.

The Imps, in the relegation zone, had the first clear opening after seven minutes, but Graham Hutchison headed an inviting Nicky Nicolau cross wide.

However Lincoln's pressure told and they took the lead after 43 minutes, Vadaine Oliver rising highest to head in a Nicolau corner.

Telford were twice thwarted by Paul Farman after Steve Jones' header, before Trainer scored from six yards.

VIEWS FROM THE DRESSING ROOM

AFC Telford United Manager Andy Sinton told BBC Radio Shropshire:

"On reflection of the game it could be the best point we get, and our performance didn't warrant that.

"Just to get something on the board, I am delighted."

Lincoln City manager David Holdsworth told BBC Radio Lincolnshire:

Dominant Lincoln please Holdsworth

"It was a fantastic performance. I felt we dominated proceedings away from home and the first-half performance was as good as we've had this season.

"We've had six or seven clear-cut chances and paid the price for not getting a second goal because really the game should have been put to bed.

"The boys are despondent because they haven't won the game but that was a fantastic dominant performance and I can't fault their effort. There's a great team spirit but we really must take our chances."
