Aberdeen release striker Michael Paton

Aberdeen have released forward Michael Paton to allow the 23-year-old to find a new club.

The Dons confirmed they had reached agreement with the striker and completed the paperwork just before the 2300 BST transfer deadline.

Paton, a product of the club's youth academy, made 57 first-team appearances for the Dons.

He also had loan spells at Brechin City and Stockport County but has not played for the Dons for a year.
