Lincoln City have signed Mamadou Fofana on a short-term contract after the Frenchman impressed on trial.
The 24-year-old defensive midfielder, whose contract will run until 2 January, can also play at centre-back.
Meanwhile non-contract pair Luke Daley, 22, and Mark McCammon, 34, have left the Blue Square Bet Premier club.
Former Plymouth winger Daley made five appearances this season while striker McCammon played six times for the Imps last season and twice this term.
McCammon made headlines when a tribunal found his dismissal by Gillingham in 2011 was
unfair racial victimisation
- although the club are contesting the verdict.
About the arrival of Fofana, Imps boss David Holdsworth told BBC Radio Lincolnshire: "He's looked sharp in training and we're hoping he can be a diamond out of nothing.
"He's been playing at a decent level, he's a big strong boy, he gets about the pitch and he's raring to go.
"Being brought up in France he's seen the likes of Michael Essien and Claude Makelele, I won't put him in that pedigree yet but that's the kind of player he is."
