Chris Holroyd's hat-trick helped Macclesfield edge out Stockport County in a seven-goal thriller.

Danny Hattersley's 12-yard effort put the home side ahead, but Holroyd found the top corner soon afterwards for 1-1.

A fine Danny Whitehead's strike restored the advantage, but Holroyd hit back with two well-taken strikes.

Danny O'Donnell's header drew the hosts level at 3-3, but James Tunnicliffe turned Anthony McNamee's cross into his own net to give the Silkmen victory.
