Exeter climbed up to second after making it three wins in a row with a comfortable victory over Burton.

The Grecians went in front when Arron Davies' cross was headed into the penalty area by Alan Gow and Jamie Cureton fired a volley into the net.

Cureton then turned provider, heading the ball into the path of Davies, whose shot was too powerful for Ross Atkins.

John O'Flynn wrapped up the points after tapping home at the back post from Guillem Bauza's perfect cross.

VIEWS FROM THE DRESSING ROOM

Exeter City manager Paul Tisdale told BBC Radio Devon:

"I'd like to see some improvements in the side in the coming months but if that's my starting point then I'm very happy.

"Although we'd won two away games, I did feel a little damaged going into today, I did feel some anxiety over the game at home.

"Whether it's good form, bad form, I'm happy with what I'm seeing on the pitch, the team is sensible and focused.

"I'm looking forward to next Tuesday night, we should go into it with confidence, I'm not going to change the team too much."

Burton Albion manager Gary Rowett told BBC Radio Derby:

"I think it was a bit like the Fleetwood game in a way, although probably slightly poorer.

"I spoke to them before the game about the importance of following up a good performance with another one, because that's what good teams do, but we couldn't do that today.

"I thought we started the game quite well and we had control of the game, albeit in front of them, but I felt we then started overplaying.

"We were trying to move the ball around for no reason, we didn't get it into dangerous areas and when we did get it into dangerous areas, we didn't really look to go and hurt them."
