Ryan Lowe scored his first goal for MK Dons as they secured a comfortable win over Carlisle.

Luke Chadwick put his team ahead after curling Daniel Powell's lay-off past goalkeeper Adam Collin from the edge of the box.

Lowe put the Dons further ahead slotting in the rebound after Powell's shot had been saved by Collin.

The visitors rallied late on but Danny Cadamarteri's low effort from the angle was tipped wide by keeper David Martin.

MK Dons manager Karl Robinson told BBC Three Counties Radio:

"We felt we had to start brightly, we wanted to get right up against them, make it difficult for them, create chances, and we did that.

"I felt our play probably deserved more than what we got (in the first half) and we've seen so many times at Stadium MK where we've been so dominant and not got the second and the opposition have nicked one out of nothing.

"That's a very good Carlisle side and they really put us up against the wall for the first 20 minutes of the second half.

"Once we got to grips with them, people had a little bit of a go at each other and dragged us out of the mess we were in, we went from strength to strength from there."

Carlisle United manager Greg Abbott told BBC Radio Cumbria:

"I don't think we could cope with the quality that they had. Everything has to go our way on days like this when you come to the teams with the quality of players that they've got.

"We make an early mistake, we concede a goal and we put ourselves on the back foot and made the first half very difficult.

"He [Collin] made a mistake as simple as that but he's got to stop making those mistakes. At places like these when you make those mistakes they take some coming back from.

"If you're going to come here and get results things have to go your way - you don't gift anybody anything."
