Nicky Ajose scored his third goal in as many games as Crawley Town beat Leyton Orient to secure their third league win of the season.
The on-loan striker scored 18 minutes from time with a well-placed shot after he was set up by debutant Mike Jones.
Orient started well, with Martin Rowlands forcing Reds keeper Paul Jones into action in the first minute.
Moses Odubajo and Michael Symes wasted chances as the O's suffered a third straight league defeat.
VIEWS FROM THE DRESSING ROOM
Crawley manager Richie Barker told BBC Sussex:
"If you're going to be successful you have to win games in all different ways. I thought defensively they were absolutely fantastic, the back five or six were tremendous.
"We should have been fresher then them and we just didn't get the ball down and play and they pressed us really well and we looked nervous but getting to half-time was important.
"I was disappointed how long it took us to get behind them and I always knew that Nicky would be more of a threat off the shoulder and he obviously was after the pass from Michael Jones."
Leyton Orient manager Russell Slade told BBC London 94.9:
"I feel we were in there for at least a point today, and that would have been commendable.
"We looked a bit tired and leggy towards the end on the game.
"We didn't create enough chances, I think we need a bit more belief in an around the box, we need more quality to get a goal.
"A goal for us would have given us a fantastic lift."
