Barnsley midfielder David Perkins extends contract

Barnsley midfielder David Perkins has extended his contract with the Championship club until the end of the 2014 season.

Perkins, 30, joined the Tykes from Colchester last summer and has made 35 league appearances.

He becomes the second Barnsley player in two days to sign a new deal, after young defender John Stones agreed a new deal on Thursday.

A hamstring injury means he misses Saturday's match with Brighton.
