Dundee hold talks with Hartlepool striker Colin Nish

Dundee are in discussions with Colin Nish and are hopeful of signing the Hartlepool striker before Saturday's home game against Ross County.

The 31-year-old scored 62 Scottish Premier League goals during spells with Kilmarnock and Hibernian.

Nish moved to Victoria Park last summer and scored four goals in 20 games for the League One side.

Dundee have also made an offer to former Dundee United and Aberdeen midfielder Mark Kerr.

Kerr, 30, finished last term with Dunfermline after a move from Greek club Asteras Tripolis in January and he had been training with Hibernian and Carlisle during pre-season.

The newly-promoted Dens Park club will also take a look at two foreign trialists this week as they look to bolster manager Barry Smith's squad.

Nish was an unused substitute for Hartlepool's league opener but did not feature in the squad for last Saturday's 2-0 loss at Notts County.

Kilmarnock made a bid to take Nish back to Rugby Park this summer but manager Kenny Shiels told BBC Scotland that they could not afford to finance the deal.
