Defender Sebastien Faure has signed a three-year contract with Rangers, subject to international clearance.
The 21-year-old left Lyon without playing a top-flight game for Les Gones, although he did feature in the French League Cup.
Faure was in the France squad at the 2011 Under-20 World Cup in Colombia, helping them to a fourth place finish.
Last season Faure spent time on loan with Nantes and was on trial with Leeds United before joining up with Rangers.
Rangers have now brought six players to Ibrox this summer.
Faure joins Ian Black, Dean Shiels, Francisco Sandaza, Kevin Kyle and Emerson Cribari in moving to Glasgow as Rangers prepare for a transfer embargo which is to begin on 1 September.
Faure is not eligible for Wednesday's game against Falkirk in the Ramsdens Cup.
Manager Ally McCoist is hopeful that international clearance will be granted in time for his latest recruit to feature at Berwick Rangers on Sunday.
