Leicester City's Tom Parkes agrees Bristol Rovers switch
Bristol Rovers are set to sign former loan defender Tom Parkes on a permanent deal from Leicester City.
The 20-year-old made 14 appearances for the League Two side last season before returning to his parent club.
Rovers manager Mark McGhee is confident the deal will be completed in time for Tuesday's game at Barnet, but if there is a delay with the paperwork they will consider signing him on loan.
"It gives us time to get the medical done," McGhee told BBC Radio Bristol.
"I'm really pleased. He gives us great balance as he's left-sided. He showed here last year how good he was.
"Tom's got a lot of improvement to come. He can go up the levels and will be a very good player for us."
Parkes came through Leicester's academy but did not play a first-team game.
Before arriving at the Memorial Stadium in January, he enjoyed loan spells with Burton Albion and Yeovil.
