Midfielder Adam Walker grabbed a second-half hat-trick as promoted Nuneaton earned their first victory of the Blue Square Bet Premier season.

Alfreton went closest in the opening period when Paul Clayton's shot hit the crossbar five minutes before the break.

They fell behind when Walker tucked away Kyle Patterson's pass and he then rifled home from 20 yards.

The points were already safe when Walker completed his treble from Robert Thompson-Brown's cross in injury time.
