Gillingham continued their 100% start to the season at the expense of Dagenham and Redbridge.

Veteran Deon Burton gave the visitors the lead when he headed home Matt Fish's cross.

Dwight Gayle equalised from the spot after he had been brought down in the area by visiting keeper Stuart Nelson.

Myles Weston grabbed the winner for Martin Allen's side, beating two players and firing past Daggers goalkeeper Chris Lewington.

VIEWS FROM THE DRESSING ROOM

Gillingham boss Martin Allen told BBC Radio Kent:

"It's always hard coming here and the conditions made it tough.

"We weathered the storm, fought back well from the equaliser, and did a fantastic job.

"What a great win though. When you see the stand here full up with people, the joy in everyone's faces, all the singing, everybody's done their stint."
