Akpo Sodje's header was enough for Preston to rescue a point against 10-man Bournemouth in League One.

Harry Arter was dismissed midway through the first half after picking up two bookings in quick succession.

But Tommy Elphick, who had recently returned from a 15-month injury lay-off, glanced in Marc Pugh's free-kick to give the Cherries the lead.

Lee Holmes was brought off for North End with a gashed knee, before Sodje powered home the leveller.

VIEWS FROM THE TRAINING GROUND

Bournemouth manager Paul Groves told BBC Radio Solent:

"When you're going through a period where a little bit of good luck is not coming your way, you have to dig in there and you have to make sure you don't get beaten.

"That's what we've done over the games that we've played.

"The whole group performed well especially when they went down to 10. The sending off's a game changer, as it would be."
