Tottenham want new striker, says Andre Villas-Boas

Tottenham manager Andre Villas-Boas tells a media conference that he is looking for a new striker to partner Jermaine Defoe.

Speaking ahead of Spurs' opening game of the season against Newcastle on Saturday, Villas-Boas admits that the club have approached "a couple of players for the position" but the situation had "stalled".

The Tottenham manager also said that the potential move of midfielder Luka Modric to Spanish champions Real Madrid was currently "in the chairman's hands" and is likely to be resolved in "the next week".
