Norwich City have signed former Manchester City defender Javier Garrido on a season-long loan from Lazio.
The Canaries have the option to extend the deal for the 27-year-old beyond the 2012-13 campaign.
"He has played in La Liga, Serie A, and the Premier League, so he is a player of real experience," said Norwich boss Chris Hughton.
"For me an important factor was the fact that he has played in the Premier League before."
Garrido spent three years in England with Manchester City, playing 49 top-flight games,
before moving to Serie A outfit Lazio in 2010 for an undisclosed fee.
The Spaniard, who will
compete with Marc Tierney
for the left-back berth at Carrow Road, has also had spells with Real Sociedad and Valencia.
Garrido joined City in 2007 when Sven-Goran Eriksson was in charge,
but found first-team appearances limited.
The left-back was also part of Spain's poor London 2012 campaign which saw them eliminated at the group stage.
