Colin Kazim-Richards scored his second goal in as many games as a lacklustre Blackburn edged past Hull.

On-loan Galatasaray forward Kazim-Richards broke the deadlock in the 77th minute after Hull failed to deal with Dickson Etuhu's cross.

Blackburn manager Steve Kean received a familiar barracking from his own supporters during the match.

"Blackburn have got a chance this season. Steve Kean has got four points from six now. But the atmosphere was very subdued. Are the fans disappointed that they've won the game because it means Steve Kean is going to stay in charge? All he can do is keep winning games."

They chanted "1-0 and we want Kean out" to indicate they were far from satisfied despite the victory.

Chances were at a premium throughout and the three centre-backs Steve Bruce selected for Hull were largely untroubled by Blackburn, whose attacks lacked tempo and guile.

As chants of "Kean out" rumbled from the stands, Hull fashioned the best chance of the first half - with keeper Paul Robinson pushing over when Sone Aluko set Tigers striker Nick Proschwitz free in the area.

After the break, a cross from Hull wing-back Liam Rosenior dipped over Robinson but Joe Dudgeon could only steer into the side netting at the back post.

Rosenior then made a vital contribution at the other end midway through the half, decisively glancing Bradley Orr's cross behind with Kazim-Richards poised to strike.

Veteran striker Nuno Gomes came off the bench to help set up Blackburn's winner, chesting down Etuhu's floated ball from the right and prodding across goal to spark a scramble that Kazim-Richards finished by rifling home.

Blackburn manager Steve Kean:

"The thing that I'm focusing on is wins and clean sheets.

"We've managed to get a really good point on Saturday, a clean sheet today, scored a goal and I'm sure by the time we get another couple of victories the fans will be happy."

Hull manager Steve Bruce:

"For all our good football and the way we are defensively, if you don't score and take the chances somewhere like here, it's going to be a frustrating night for you.

"I think after being at the club a few weeks, that's going to be our Achilles heel."
