Tranmere Rovers sign Ben Gibson from Middlesbrough

Tranmere Rovers have signed Middlesbrough defender Ben Gibson on a one-month loan deal.

Gibson progressed through the youth academy at the Riverside Stadium but has only made one appearance for the Boro first team.

The 19-year-old had loan spells at Plymouth and York last season.

He made 16 appearances for Argyle and helped the Minstermen win the Blue Square Bet Premier play-off final, featuring for them nine times.
