Wigan have completed the signing of Ivory Coast striker Arouna Kone from La Liga side Levante for an undisclosed fee.
The 28-year-old scored 15 times in 34 games last season to help Levante to a surprise sixth-place finish in La Liga during a loan spell from Sevilla.
Kone only completed a permanent switch to Levante at the start of this summer.
His arrival comes a day after manager
Roberto Martinez brought in Arsenal midfielder Ryo Miyaichi on loan.
Kone, who has signed a three-year contract, has been capped 35 times for his country - scoring nine goals in the process.
Martinez has been searching for a replacement for forward Hugo Rodallega, who left for
Fulham on a free transfer after his contract expired.
Wigan have also brought in defender Ivan Ramis from Mallorca and midfielder Fraser Fyvie from Aberdeen on permanent deals this summer.
