Sheffield United opened their League One season with a win thanks to an early goal against Shrewsbury Town.
David McAllister hit the only goal of the game after just four minutes when he volleyed in from close range.
Paul Parry twice went close to levelling, and Marvin Morgan headed wide as the visitors pushed on.
After the break, Tony McMahon and Shaun Miller were both denied by visiting goalkeeper Chris Weale, while Parry was denied again by Mark Howard.
McAllister spent three months on loan with Shrewsbury last season.

Blades manager Danny Wilson tells BBC Radio Sheffield:
"It was a typical first game of the season. I thought Shrewsbury did brilliantly at times and put us on the back foot.
"Overall it's a great three points at this stage of the season. Thankfully we've won our home game and that's all we can ask for.
"We defended well. There are loads of things to work on but we got our first three points which was important."
Shrewsbury manager Graham Turner told BBC Radio Shropshire:
"Without a shadow of a doubt we should have taken at least a point out of that.
"After the setback of an early goal it was just having that little extra bit of a cutting edge in the box.
"We had enough quality balls and enough scrambling balls getting in there, and we should not have drawn a blank."
