Right-back Damian Batt scored the winning spot-kick after Ryan Clarke had saved Marc Pugh's effort.

The hosts had chances to score in the first half as Shwan Jalal parried shots from Adam Chapman and Sean Rigg in quick succession.

Bournemouth's Wes Thomas fired wide when in a good position and Pugh shot over after 80 minutes.
