Danny Hattersley's first-half header was enough to earn Stockport victory in their match at home to Alfreton.

The visitors had goalkeeper Phil Barnes to thank early on, after he saved well from Sam Sheridan and Jon Nolan.

However, Barnes was unable to do anything when Hattersley powered home a header from Sean Newton's delivery.

Alfreton's best chances of the match fell to veteren striker Iyseden Christie, but the debutant twice fired wide from close range.
