Jamie Taylor scored the only goal as Lincoln began their campaign with a win over Kidderminster.
The Imps bossed the opening stages, and could have gone ahead had Rob Duffy not fired spectacularly over the bar.
The deadlock was finally broken when Danny Gray's pass found Taylor, who fired into the bottom corner.
Harriers had chances to equalise, but they found home keeper Paul Farman in fine form as he kept out strikes from both Ryan Austin and Marvin Johnson.

Lincoln City manager David Holdsworth told BBC Radio Lincolnshire:
"At home and against a good side as well, it was a fabulous victory for the players. I think they worked extremely hard.
"Kidderminster overloaded in midfield and we tried to match them up and stop their flow, and we looked to counter-attack.
"Three points is what we wanted and got, but I think Steve Burr's side will be challenging up there at the end of the season.
"I thought we played very well in the first half and when we were up against it we battled hard. I think they're qualities you need to win games and we got a clean sheet as well."
