Leeds United defender Andy O'Brien joins Vancouver
Vancouver Whitecaps have signed defender Andy O'Brien after his contract with Leeds was terminated by mutual consent.
The 33-year-old was transfer-listed at the end of last season.
He told the club website: "I'm very grateful for the opportunity given to me by Vancouver Whitecaps FC.
"I appreciate the hard work that's been put in by Vancouver, given the short period of time there was to get this deal done."
The former Republic of Ireland international is the third Championship player to move to the Canadian team this summer, after Scotland internationals Barry Robson and Kenny Miller joined from Middlesbrough and Cardiff respectively.
O'Brien, who has previously played for Bradford, Newcastle, Portsmouth and Bolton, was treated for depression last season.
