Carlisle United will continue to assess ex-Newcastle forward Ryan Donaldson, following his trialist outing in last week's 3-0 win at Durham City.
The 21-year-old made six first-team appearances before he left the Magpies this summer, in addition to loan spells with Hartlepool and Tranmere.
"We've arranged for him to come along for the second part of this week,"
boss Greg Abbott told the club website.
"He should be involved at some stage in the [Middlesbrough] game on Friday."
Former England Under-19 international Donaldson is among a number of trialists, including Alessio Bugno, who are currently training with the Cumbrians.
"He (Donaldson) literally joined us just before the warm-up last Tuesday," Abbott added.
"This will give him a chance to spend a bit of time with us and then we can make a decision from there."
United have ended the trial spell of former Cardiff City defender Jonathan Meades.
