Michael Moffat and David Sinclair scored two goals apiece as Ayr United thrashed Clyde in the first round of the Scottish Communities League Cup.

There were no goals in the first half but Ayr substitute David Winters lobbed the opener just after the interval.

Moffat tucked home the second and Jonathan Tiffoney tapped in from close range to extend the advantage.

Sinclair's first of the day and John Neill's reply from Clyde both came from long range.

Moffact converted a penalty after Iain Gray's foul on Winters and Sinclair completed the scoring with another effort from distance in injury time.
