Oldham deals for Cliff Byrne and Youssouf M'Changama

Oldham Athletic have signed defender Cliff Byrne and agreed a new one-year deal with Youssouf M'Changama.

Irishman Byrne, 30, was released by Scunthorpe last season after making 266 appearances during a nine-year stay.

"I have seen a lot of Cliff and he is comfortable at both centre-back and right-back," manager Paul Dickov told the club website.

M'Changama, 21, joined the Latics in March on a short-term deal and made 10 appearances last season.

"I am delighted the way our recruitment has gone and we needed experience, which Cliff provides, not just at the back but throughout the whole team," Dickov added.

"Cliff has played a lot of games and above all is a leader, both on and off the pitch."
