Wrexham chief executive David Roberts has decided to step down at the end of July.
Roberts, a chartered accountant, took on the role on a voluntary basis in December following the
takeover of the club by the Wrexham Supporters' Trust.
The club say Roberts has worked "tirelessly" to improve the financial situation after years of uncertainty.
"Now is the right time for the business to move into a different phase of Trust ownership," said Roberts.
"It's been a privilege to try and help a club which means so much to me and I wish [manager] Andy [Morrell] and the players all the very best for the forthcoming season."
Wrexham say Roberts leaves having ensured the club has broken even at an operating level through to June.
Club director Spencer Harris said: "As a Board, we would like to put on record our thanks for all the hard work and commitment David has given us over the past seven months.
"He has work tirelessly to turn things around, the club and its fans have been extremely privileged to have had the benefit of David's experience and professionalism at such a crucial time in our history."
