Will Grigg's superb solo effort gave Walsall a narrow victory over promotion hopefuls MK Dons.

The visitors took the lead in the first half through Grigg, who beat Tom Flanagan in the box before curling a shot inside the far post.

Jamie Paterson could have doubled Walsall's lead but shot wide when one-on-one with Dons keeper David Martin.

The result sees MK Dons finish fifth, facing the second leg of their play-off semi-final away at Huddersfield.
