Michael Halliday headed in from three yards out in added time to salvage a point for Crusaders in the north Belfast derby at Solitude.
The Reds had the better of the first half, Sean O'Neill denying Diarmuid O'Carroll and Davy McAlinden, and David Magowan twice heading off the line.
Jordan Owens tested Ryan Brown with a snapshot and David Gibson blasted over.
George McMullan scored from the penalty spot in the 83rd minute after Joe Gormley was brought down in the area.
Crusaders rested a number of key players ahead of Monday's Setanta Sports Cup semi-final first leg game against Sligo Rovers.
