Missing play-offs would be a failure, says Alan Navarro

Brighton midfielder Alan Navarro believes their season will be a failure if they do not clinch a play-off place.

The Seagulls are two points behind six-placed Cardiff after their 1-0 defeat to Reading on Tuesday.

He told BBC Sussex: "Because we've been up there and now we're in the position we are, it's a little bit disappointing. We've let it slip a bit.

"If we finish outside the play-offs, we'll all be absolutely devastated. It'll be a bit of a failure really."

Albion are now on a run of four games without a win in the Championship after losing to Reading at the Amex.

"We gave everything to try and win the game," the 30-year-old added.

"We needed something to fall for us. We can't let it affect us because we're in with a shout.

"But we need to pick up as many points as possible, stay in there and hopefully things will go our way."

The Seagulls travel to promotion-chasing West Ham on Saturday.
