Billy Paynter scored twice for Leeds as they came from behind to beat Peterborough, earning Neil Warnock his first home victory since taking over.
Ross McCormack took his tally for the season to 19 as he also grabbed two following Joe Newell's opener for Posh.
Paynter's first and McCormack's double came in a chaotic 180-second burst either side of the interval.
And the goals killed off a Posh side who are not yet mathematically certain to avoid relegation to League One.
Former Swindon striker Paynter has only scored once since signing for Leeds two years ago.
But after being handed a rare start ahead of Luciano Becchio, in one of five changes made by Warnock after defeat by Derby on Monday, he took his opportunity with some distinction.
The 27-year-old had a first-minute one-on-one saved and then had a second-minute header cleared off the line, before Newell took advantage of a Charlie Taylor error to score from an acute angle.
George Boyd should have made it two just seconds later and was made to pay when Paynter scored from a yard in first-half injury time after Paul Jones dropped a Robert Snodgrass shot.
McCormack's quickfire double put Leeds in control after the interval, when his weak back-post volley bobbled over Jones and he finished off a smart move.
Paynter then applied the gloss when Tom Lees' cross found him at the back post and he finished clinically from 12 yards.
